Wednesday - Hot and sunny.

A really good, fun day!

I did something unusual for me. I got up when my alarm rang, made the bed, did my computer stuff very quickly, dressed, grabbed an English muffin with ham and then headed out to the mall. At S-Mall, I caught a bus to Mikawa Mall, the area's biggest shopping mall. I spent the rest of the day at the mall.

At the mall, I did a little shopping and had lunch at KFC. They had a roasted chicken wrap with 5 kinds of veggies that sounded healthy! It was quite nice. I don't usually eat at KFC so it made an interesting change.

After that, I headed to the theater where I saw From Paris With Love. I wasn't expecting much, but quite enjoyed it. It's not great cinema, but it worked and kept me entertained for a couple of hours. I like Jonathan Rhys Meyers, but don't really like John Travolta, so wasn't sure how I'd feel about this movie. Perhaps it was the more European sensibility, but I liked it. Violent, over the top, and a bit of a surprise, but fun.

When the movie let out I did a bit more shopping. Most of it was "window shopping". I'm looking for something for my niece's birthday in a couple of months and wanted to see what was on offer. I also got myself something. I was surprised. I went to the clothes department in Jusco and had a thorough snoop. I found a few things that I wanted to try on so I took them to the changing room. I completely ignored the sign that said only bring 2 items into the changing room. What, are they nuts? Do they honestly think I'm going to try on two things, get dressed again and then go and get more and get undressed again? Umm, ain't gonna happen! If you want to do it that way, then have the changing room monitored and have someone there that can take away the "No's" and hold the "Yes" pile. Anyway, almost everything fit which was a nice thing. There was one shirt that I really thought was cute and if my derriere (I did just see a movie set in France) was a tad smaller I would have bought. On the other hand, there was a long top that fit and looked great. It's almost long enough to be a dress, but I thought I could wear it with leggings. It just had swing. Don't know how else to describe it. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but it's been so long since I bought myself anything new to wear that I decided to go for it, so I did.

The rest of the afternoon I spent doing more looking around and time wasting! I had a tea and doughnut at Mr. Donut (and a good long read) then hacked around the bookstore and DVD section. It was around that time that F called me and then joined me at the mall. He finished work around 6 tonight. I wasn't expecting him for quite a while, but he was earlier than I thought.

We had a nice frozen coffee at Seattle's Best, then decided to go to our favourite restaurant for dinner. We got there and it was closed. Too bad. F suggested driving to Amarume to go to another restaurant so that's what we did. They weren't very busy and we had very nice steak, with soup, rice, salad and coffee.

After dinner we came home and watched Desperate Housewives and then F took his bath and went to bed.

It's quite late now, but it really was a great, fun day. I rarely do this kind of thing, so when I do it's a real proper adventure!

I must have had French on the brain today. When I was getting off the bus at Mikawa, the lady ahead of me paid and the driver told her that because she got on at stop 5, it would cost 450 yen. When it was my turn to pay, instead of saying, "Watashi mo" I said, "Moi aussi." The driver probably thinks that was English!

Night.

You know, when you find clothes here that actually fit properly and aren't whoreish and ugly you just have to get them regardless of the price, right?
