After a brief gap in my card delivery, I finally received a few cards for your perusal. Let me know what you think of them!
The first card today comes from Spain. The card itself isn't remarkable, in fact I believe that it is an ad card, but the envelope is rather interesting. (Personally, I have asked that people not use envelopes for my postcrossing postcards, but this person ignored that.)
The stamps are rather nice on this one.
This very cool card came from the Netherlands, from the city of Deventer. Marga wrote that she really likes The Adjustment Bureau.

This card comes all the way from Russia. Ekaterina sent it from near Saint Petersburg. She writes that near her city there are beautiful palaces with gorgeous parks.
Juho from Porvoo in Finland sent me this card with his warm greetings. He writes that summer is here and that the day he sent the card was a beautiful sunny summer Friday. He is a retired grandfather and that Porvoo is a small old and nice town in South Finland. I'm so happy to have a card where the person tells me about himself! It's lovely.
Well, that's it. Four cards from Europe. I wonder what I'll find in my mailbox tomorrow. Bye!

I like the one from Finland the best. What a lovely town! Last month I went to the post office and asked for postcard stamps. I was dumbfounded to learn that they don't issue them anymore! What do you think of this development? Do you use a 50 and a 20 yen stamp for your postcards?
Actually, we use 80 yen stamps! I know it's too much, but they are so much nicer than the regular 70 yen stamps. Since a lot of people are really into stamp collecting along with post crossing, it just adds a little something to the card if you can put a gorgeous stamp on it.
Japan really doesn't make nice international stamps. Most countries that I know of do, but...
Once a year, they issue international stamps and I always buy up a ton of sheets so I have them for the rest of the year. I think it's around October or November when they issue them. International Letter Writing Week, it's called...
Ah! I will look out for those. We've been enjoying some of the lovely 80 yen stamps that they've put out recently so it's not a big deal. There is a nice sakurambo one from Yamagata, so F and I use that as a "nice but not extraordinary" stamp.
With postcrossing I find that the Dragonball stamps and the Pokemon/Astroboy ones are popular too, especially amongst anime fans.
