Postcrossing - Incoming

To September 20, 2012

I've been quite ill recently, so please forgive my falling behind on my posting of my lovely postcards.  My husband has been off work as well, which means it was difficult to use the scanner as he usually sits in the spot I use when I scan cards!

Enough excuses...on with the show.  I'm bringing you a few of the lovely cards I have received recently. The majority are from Europe, and all of them are interesting!

Emma in Great Britain sent me this lovely card commemorating the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  She used a stamp from the Olympics as well.

She said that it really does feel like a good time to be British.

Thanks for a great card Emma!
Royal Wedding (The Kiss)

Heidi in Germany sent this interesting card of a door.  I like doors, I always wonder what is behind them!

She writes that she works at a post office. She says that it is a great job with many fun and interesting people.

I think she is also somewhat of a football (soccer) fan, as the back of the card is decorated with many stickers to do with football.

Johanna, also from Germany sent a cool card with a book on it.  She writes that she thinks it is a good idea to use postcrossing cards in teaching, and she hopes to do that too some day.

She's working in a relocation company, but would like to get more involved with intercultural training.

Thanks Johanna!

This is a movie card, and what a movie!  My favourite version of Romeo and Juliet.  The 1968 version with Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey.  Tomo sent this card from Japan.  She lives in Tokyo.  She wrote about her visits to my prefecture.  She wants to go to Yamadera, which isn't very close to Tsuruoka, but it is a beautiful place.

Romeo and Juliet (1968)

Marianne sent me this card from the Netherlands.  She writes that she is 70 years old and she lives in this town.  She says it is not very big, but it is beautiful.

When she sent the card it was 25 degrees in Alkmaar.

Jadwiga from Poland sent me this lovely portrait of a woman reading.  She writes that in her free time she loves reading detective stories (me too!) In the future she would like to visit New York and go parachuting!  I'm not sure if she wants to go parachuting in New York though!

Girl Reading (Lucie) by Jacques-Emile Blanche (1861-1942)

Thanks for a lovely card Jadwiga!  I love pictures of people reading.

There you are.  Six lovely cards that I received lately. Which ones do you like?

I'll try and post more early next week.  Check back to see them please!

I like the Royal Wedding card the best, although all of them are lovely and seem to have been written with thoughtfulness.
