Thursday - Sunny but cool

I've just spent the last few minutes searching the internet to see if there has been any information about the killer of my former student who was murdered while in New Zealand.  Sadly, there doesn't appear to be.  It has been 15 years since she died and every September since I have spent some time remembering her.  I didn't know Kayo Matsuzawa well, she was one of my first students and I only taught her for a few months. She was a lovely, funny, bright and kind woman who loved Jon Bon Jovi and gospel music.  I still miss her.

I now return you to my regular blog….

I got up early this morning.  I think I surprised both myself and F.  I got up, got dressed and went out with F in the morning.  He dropped me off at the internet cafe, which was on his way to work, and I spent the next few hours there. I did a lot of crochet, read the paper, watched a couple of movies, and had breakfast for a hundred yen!  F called me and invited me out for lunch, or I'd probably have had lunch there too!

F picked me up and we went for gyudon. It wasn't really my choice, but it was fast after all.  He dropped me off at home afterwards.

I checked my email and then headed out again.  I went to the mall and did a little shopping and then a little reading at Doutors.  I got quite a few pages of Life of Pi read today. I love it, but it's hard to make myself sit down and read it.

I came home and after a bit I swept the lobby of the apartment building.  I also shut the doors.  Everyone has been leaving the doors open, but it is cool enough now at night, that we should be closing them, plus the dust really comes in.

We had a good evening together.  F put the nabe together, a little earlier than I wanted, but that's okay.  He did a good job, but left out one or two ingredients!

After I did the dishes we headed out to Mr. Donut.  They are taking away the point card system so I wanted to cash in my points.  There wasn't much on offer, just tumblers and a towel, so I got one of each.  I think I'll give the towel away to someone special.

Tonight was quiet again.  I'm quite tired as I didn't get all my beauty sleep last night, so I'm going to sign off and get some more sleep.  Talk to you tomorrow night.  Night.

I did not know that Mr Donut is doing away with the point card. Thanks for letting us know. Will go in and get a free drink and donut with my points.

It may be just up here, I'm not sure. I was told years ago when I got the card, that it was only useful in Tohoku.

They're going to do some other system from next month. I'll be sad as I'll miss their cool little "presents".
