Remembrance Day - Tuesday - Sunny and warm

A good day.

I got up early this morning, watched Charlie’s Angels while I checked my computer and woke up properly!

After a bit I went over to the chesterfield for a bit of crochet and breakfast.  I got all the squares done for my decoration, well the base of them anyway. I watched the finale of America’s Next Top Model and just as I was about to start moving and dressing my phone rang.  F was offering to buy me lunch.  I accepted so I had to hurry up.

We had a nice lunch at Bikkuri Donkey!!. I couldn’t have the lunch specials as they were too high calorie, so I just had a basic hamburg steak.  It was good though, so I didn’t mind at all.  F drove me home afterwards.

During the afternoon I vegged a bit, watched a bit of TV and then finally got a start on dinner. I completely forgot to do any laundry, so I’ll have to do some tomorrow.

F came home about his usual time and I kicked dinner into higher gear.  I steamed broccoli in the microwave, boiled some potatoes and mashed them, and fried some chicken.  Everything turned out well, except the chicken was a little blackened!  It didn’t really burn thank goodness, it just looked bad on one side. Dinner got good reviews and I liked it too.

After dinner and F doing the dishes, we went out to the grocery store.  We bought groceries for the next couple of nights and F bought flour for making bread.  That was the whole reason we went, but he didn’t make any bread.  Ha!

We came home and each of us watched a bit of TV.  I went over to the chesterfield again during Grey’s Anatomy and darned in a lot of ends in my squares.  I also managed to edge one in the white yarn.  It looks pretty cool!

And that’s about it for my night.  It was a good day.  Tomorrow I hope to do more crochet and some laundry too.  I may even finish the book that I’ve been reading for the last two months!  Woot.

Oh, before I go, today’s decluttering included some never used glasses, cups, more books to book mooch and an old calendar.  I’m up to 66 items cleared away.  Some areas are really starting to look better!

Night.

Love your idea on decluttering! Going to start January 1 and keep going. By spring "maybe" I'll tell a difference!

Thanks, but I can't take credit for it! The writer of one of the blogs I read did it first. It's getting harder in a way, but I'm also throwing away more stuff. It's freeing in a way!

I recommend it, especially if you want to get rid of stuff that you weren't sure why you were keeping it!

That comment got me wondering where the decluttering challenge began. I read about it on a blog called "a small life," but she got it from a blog called "AND then WE SAVED" who in turn got it from a blog "The Minimalists" where it's called A Minimalism Game.

I don't think we'll make it all the way to "minimalism," but we're getting rid of a lot of stuff! :D

I know I'll never be a minimalist! I think I put too much stock in having things, but I would like to be more selective about what I keep.

In any case, it is going quite well, so thank YOU for the idea :-)
