Wednesday - Light rain, cloudy

A good-ish day.

I got up mostly on time this morning and did my usual breakfast and tea routine.  I didn’t take a nap and I also didn’t workout today.

I stayed home and scanned my cards in the early afternoon, and then went out for a long walk.  I walked the cards to the post office and dropped them off and I also bought some stamps.  After that I went to Hanami!

I walked through the kiosk area of the Park and finally found the place that was selling donairs.  I bought one and took it over to a bench.  I had to set up my umbrella as it was raining a tad, so I was sitting there eating my donair.  It was a bit different from the ones I get in Canada, but it wasn’t bad at all.  I was very glad that I had brought along an old oshibori so that I had something to wipe my hands and face with.

I set off again.  I had decided to go to Cafe Cinq and do a little reading.  I walked there, washed my hands in the washroom, and then went into the cafe and had a lovely couple of cups of Earl Grey tea.  I read about a quarter of my Journal and then I decided to leave again for home.

I walked through the treed part of the park this time and took a few pictures of the park and the cherry blossoms.  I think they were quite beautiful today, but sadly, the weather wasn’t as great as it could be.

Around the moat.  The Lanterns are sponsored by local businesses.

Across the moat.

Looking back at the moat, back of a small shrine.

Tsuruoka Park.  On the right there is a glass sculpture that plays music. It is one of my favourite places to go and listen to the music, but the sound quality isn't great anymore.

I got home and did a few things here and then was just going to start working on dinner when F arrived.  He was in a mood when he came home so I got out of his way.  I asked if he wanted dinner and he said no.  Okay then.  He cooked first, ramen of course and then it was my turn.

Tonight I made myself a Buddha Bowl.  I used mostly leftovers from last night, but I also made a really yummy sauce for it all.  I had some of my quinoa, some of the chicken, cabbage and some salad all mixed together in the bowl with a yogurt sauce.  It was good!  I left a bit so I can have it again if I want…and I do!

F had left his dishes in the dish basin, but told me I could wash my dishes first.  Okay then.  I’m talented and I did that, then I went and sat down.  He went into the bedroom for a bit when he finished and I went in and talked to him.  He wasn’t very receptive at all.  In fact, some of what he said quite upset me and I told him that we will have to re-visit it later.

He took his bath and seemed a bit friendlier afterwards.  I gave him some jelly that we’d bought earlier this week and then watched Penny Dreadful again.  I know, I like rewatching the episodes!

F went to bed a little while ago.  This time of year, with the constantly changing weather, is very hard on him.  By extension, it is hard on me too.  I never know who is going to come through our apartment door…my happy friendly husband, or my grumpy, pain-ridden husband.  I can imagine that it is difficult for him, but it is also very difficult for me.

So, even though I didn’t do a workout today, I did do a lot of walking.  That is actually my goal, more than just exercising every day.  I want to be able to get outside and move around.  The inside moving has really helped with my stamina and fitness.  Yay.

I have a few plans for the morrow, but there is a little bit of weather reliance.  I don’t want to go out if the weather is terrible.  Hopefully things will work out and I’ll be able to get out of the apartment for a while.  Come back a bit later and find out!  Until tomorrow….

I do enjoy it when I get to go over and walk around and take in the flowers and the people, but I don't always get to do that.

Thanks for commenting :-)
