February 12, 2009 - Thursday

Sunny and warm. Is this really February?

I'm suddenly quite tired, so don't know how much good my writing will be tonight. Today was a good day.

I did my usual morning, watching news, drinking coffee, and I threw in a bit of faxing as well. I wanted to get in contact with a new student that I've only taught once. After a bit of fax tag, she called me, and we set up an appointment for next month.

This afternoon I had a TV filled time. I watched the remainder of the stuff from Saturday night, plus the movie I'd taped last night. The movie was darn cute. It was called Penelope and it starred James McAvoy and Christina Ricci.

I went over to the school around 5 today. I stopped off at my not so usual drugstore for a few things for me and then went to work. I spent the first hour or so freezing as I'd forgotten to set the heater yesterday. However, in the long run I probably saved myself a bit of money!

When my student came tonight we had a good if difficult class. She'd done her homework and it was interesting. She'd had to define a serious relationship so she wrote about her boyfriend at the time (now her husband.) She wrote about how they started dating when she was twelve, but broke up when he moved. However, a few days later he called her after work and they met again, and became a couple again. I was a bit surprised and said,"You dated him when you were twelve?" "Yes." "You had a job when you were 12?" "Yes." Then, I had a thought and traced the numeral 12 on the wall. "Did you mean 12?" "No!" Of course, she meant 20. It was a funny mistake to make though.

After class I wasted a bit of time and then finished up. I called Fumihiko and asked him to come and get me, then after a bit, he came for me.

We came home and I made dinner. Tonight we had salad, fried chicken wings, and chawanmushi. It was all very nice. Fumihiko did the dishes, and we settled in for a nice evening.

Hubby watched TV that wasn't annoying tonight, and I was so glad. He watched a news report about the Australian wildfires, and then something about a submarine. Not annoying at all. I wish he'd do that more often! I wouldn't complain as much.

He went to bed around 1 and after a bit of a snuggle, I came through to the living room again to blog. Now then, I really am tired and I still have set up the coffee pot and prep the plastic garbage. Gotta go!
