Wednesday - Warm and sunny, rainy at night

I woke up a bit early this morning. I went downstairs and checked out the snow outside. There wasn’t any on the path, but near the door, there was a ton. The snow had fallen off the roof and was just outside the front door. Sigh. 

I went back to bed!

I got up a bit early, dressed, and then went out to shovel the snow. There was a lot. I worked for ages and finally got the snow cleared up by the door. Then, a big machine came down our side road and left a lovely wall of snow in front of our parking area. Hurray! I spent quite a bit of time clearing that area too. It was hard as there is just no place to put the snow. I had to try and put it up on the top of the other piles, but it was already so darn high.

I went in when I finished and was surprised that I had been outside for more than an hour. I got my breakfast and took it upstairs. I had breakfast and watched last night’s episode of Project Runway. I wish I could enjoy it a bit more than I am.

I went downstairs around 3 to get my lunch and brought it upstairs again to eat. I watched the next episode of The Good Fight. It’s all about the January 6th event so it was quite interesting. 

F called after 5:15 and then I went downstairs a bit later. I did the dishes and started getting ready for cooking dinner. F came back from work and we had a nice reunion. I got on with cooking and then setting the table. I noticed that the lights on the rice cooker weren’t on so I checked it out. The plug had nearly come out of the wall socket. I texted F to let him know. I was rather worried that the rice wouldn’t be good. F came down and looked at it. He said it was okay, but I told him that he and his mother could eat it, I wouldn’t. He threw one of his stupid tantrums and refused to eat with us. He went back upstairs and that was that.

I cleared his plate off the table and got on with dinner. K did ask where F was, but was okay with eating dinner. We had a nice meal. We had chicken drumsticks, potato salad, salad, and galettes. Everything was very nice. 

After we ate, I washed the dishes as usual and put everything away. I was trying to say goodnight to K when I was finished, just to have the kerosene heater announce that it was empty! I filled it up for her and restarted it. I went upstairs.

I ignored F completely. He was in bed with the quilt up to his chin, but the lights were on and he had his phone in his hand. I started the heater and watched some YouTube and just relaxed for a while. I went downstairs at 10:30 or so. F was in the kitchen making his dinner so I just kept ignoring him. 

I had my shower, but came out when someone kept using the hot water so I was getting a bit cold at times. I went back upstairs and watched The Irrational at 11pm. 

After midnight, F came over to me and gave me my birthday present! He got me a very nice little blue handbag. I think I’d use it for special dress up occasions when my purse/backpack style isn’t appropriate. We kissed and made up, and then talked for an hour or so about different things. He filled up our kerosene heater’s tank for me too. 

So, tomorrow we’re going to have a nice dinner out. F has the day off and I’m hoping we’ll go and see a movie in the morning. I’m not sure what we’ll do in the afternoon, but dinner is planned. 

I’m not sure if I’ll update tomorrow night. I might like to spend the night relaxing! Don’t miss me too much.

 Thursday - Cloudy, rainy with some hail

I woke up after my alarm this morning. That was rather nice. It took a few minutes, but I got up and went downstairs. I did snooze a bit longer but got up and dressed. 

I went downstairs and made my breakfast, then came back to my room and ate. I watched The Walking Dead at noon. It was a humdinger…I’m very close to the end of the show now. I think I have 4 episodes left. 

I did a bit of crochet in the afternoon (and evening too). It’s going well, but I’m going to have to get more yarn soonish, or abandon what I’m doing!

I made my lunch around 2:30 and brought it up to the room to eat. My viewing choice today was Bones and it was fine. It had some interesting moments. I watched the news and some YouTube. F phoned after 5:20 to say he was on his way back.  

I went downstairs to start dinner. Tonight I made store bought burgers, roasted new potatoes, potato salad, and salad. Everything was very nice and the roasted new potatoes were very good. Most of them disappeared.

After dinner I did the dishes and then went upstairs. I put on my pyjamas and vegged out with a bit of YouTube. After 10:30 I went downstairs and made some popcorn. I made some for F too but he didn’t like it much and gave it back to me! I liked it. I watched Doc and it was good. I’m quite pleased with this new show so far. Everything seems quite logical.

And that’s about it. I still have my cold, but I’m much better today. I skipped some of my cold medicine today and I was fine without it. I just took a bit before bed as I get a bit stuffed up.

Friday - Snowy and cloudy and cooler

I woke up this morning when my alarm went off. I made a trip downstairs, watched a couple of videos on my phone and went back to sleep. I decided not to go to a movie I had been thinking about as the timing with buses and such just wasn’t good. 

I dressed and went downstairs to make my breakfast. I also made some jelly in a bowl for tonight’s dessert. The package was due to expire this month, so I thought that I should do it soon! I put it in the fridge for later. I brought my breakfast up to my room and relaxed with a bit of news and YouTube.

Around 12:45 to 1pm, I finished up my hat. I just had to darn in the ends and finish the actual top. It turned out very well. I have two hats from the same yarn now and they are a little different, but I like them both.

I had a quiet afternoon in today. I didn’t see K at all. When it was lunchtime, I went downstairs for my lunch and came back to the room and watched an episode of The Walking Dead. It’s all about the Commonwealth at the moment. Carol is sussing things out, and so is Eugene. This is a few years after the show has finished, so I hope this isn’t a spoiler for anyone!

F called a bit after 5:15 to say he was on his way but would stop at a grocery store. I went downstairs to start dinner a little early. I took my dishes down and washed them.  

Dinner tonight was nice. We had spaghetti with a carbonara sauce, sauteed bacon, salad, and F contributed pickles. We also had dessert of strawberry jelly and ice cream. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Most of the food vanished!

I did the dishes and listened to my movie podcast. I enjoyed the podcast! When I was done, I said goodnight to K and told F I was going upstairs.

I spent a quiet evening up in our room. I did take a shower and then came back to the room and watched an episode of Gen V which I haven’t watched in ages. I’ve got a few shows on the Fire Disk that I have to decide if I’m going to go back to them and keep watching or what. It’s a bit tough with my channel showing so much Walking Dead all at once. It’s taking up my time to watch fun programmes. However, I’m about halfway through the last season of The Walking Dead. I’m wondering if the channel will show the spin-offs or if they will just stop. I’d like to see the Daryl Dixon spin-off as I watched a couple of episodes when I was in Canada last time.

Anyway, that’s about it for me. I wrote an email to my bestie tonight and then got stuck into blogging and catching up with internet things.

Friday - Sunny and muggy, hot.

I woke up when my alarm went off this morning. It was nice not to wake up early again. I did end up back in bed a little later and did snooze for a bit. I got up later and got dressed. I went downstairs and took a load of laundry with me. I had sorted it last night so that I wouldn’t have an excuse not to do laundry today! I set up the machine and then I went into the kitchen and grabbed my breakfast. I took it upstairs to eat.

Over the next couple of hours, I did three loads of laundry and hung them up in my room. There’s a wall of clean laundry now!

I went downstairs to get my lunch and the last load of laundry. While I was making lunch, F popped in for a couple of minutes. I said hello and chatted a little bit.

I went upstairs, hung up my laundry and then put on an episode of The Good Fight. It did go a little bit into the news programme, but I watched it anyway. It was another really good episode.

After watching the news and hearing from F, I went downstairs to start dinner. Now, F was planning to come back to the house before going out to have a massage, but he called me to say that he wasn’t going to come back to the house as the roads were really busy.

I got started on dinner. Tonight I did roasted vegetables with sausages, also did cucumber sticks, washed some tomatoes, had some salad and broccoli and that was that. It was rather nice. F returned a bit late and then hid in the washroom for a while. I put food on K’s plate, but she refused to eat until F came to the table. Honestly. Whatever. I did not wait. I am not as “polite” as she is. F always tells her off when she waits!

After dinner, I cleared the table or tried to. I went into the kitchen and started doing the dishes. They didn’t take too long, but I wanted to listen to my podcasts.  I was amused to see a little frog at the window. He was outside using the window as a bug attraction so he could have his dinner.

After I finished, I came upstairs with a can of root beer and some ice. I enjoyed a can of root beer and did a bit of stuff on my computer. A bit after 10 I went downstairs and took a shower. K was bopping around downstairs and it was a bit annoying!  Why doesn’t she just go to bed? I came back upstairs when I finished and watched another episode of The Boys. It was very adult in places and very over the top in others. 

Since I finished, I’ve been watching YouTube and blogging and doing the finishing up things that I do every day. 

I’m not sure what we’re going to do tomorrow. K has her daycare and then we’re supposed to meet up with her social worker after she comes back. I hope to see Deadpool and Wolverine, if the mall and cinema are open! (They weren’t today due to yesterday’s storms.)  Wish me luck.

Sunday - Hot and sunny

I got up this morning…no, I didn’t. I got up this afternoon, but hey, it’s Sunday and F had come back to bed too. 

F had suggested going to Karaoke today and having lunch there. I thought it was a good idea since we haven’t been to karaoke in ages. We arrived at Domu in downtown Tsuruoka and were able to get a room right away. Yay. We ordered our lunch and then went to the room and started singing. F sang a couple of songs and then basically stopped. He didn’t seem to be feeling that well as he put his feet up and spent the rest of the time lying on the bench. Sigh. I did most of the singing. I didn’t mind, but I did feel rather sad about it.  Lunch was good, I had pasta, and F had ramen.  After that, he ordered some more food. He suggested a deep-fried platter but I begged off. I suggested some veggie sticks and cabbage. F ordered them and also added on some nankotsu as well. We both really enjoyed the vegetables. He was glad I suggested them.

We left the karaoke box around 4:30 or so. We did some grocery shopping next. I went around the grocery store and bought groceries for tonight, and the next two days. Hopefully, I got enough.

We drove back to the house, I put the food away and went upstairs. Originally, F was supposed to wash the car, but he decided not to do that. 

Around 6 pm, F suggested going for dinner, but since I’d picked the restaurant I wanted to wait for a while. We headed out around 7 pm and were able to get in right away. I checked my app for the restaurant and I was able to get a free special dessert because of the number of points we’ve collected. Woot. We ordered our meal and enjoyed it mostly!  I had a hamburger, F had a seafood doria and we shared a plate of fries. Plus, we had drink bar as well. At the end, I requested the dessert and it was huge! It was served on a two-tier tray with a bunch of fruit, pudding, cakes and macarons.  It was gorgeous! I managed to give F a little of it, mostly the fruit, but he wouldn’t take any of the cake. Yes, I ate it and it was nice!

After our dinner, we made a quick stop at a drugstore and then just came back to the house. I watched last night’s FBI and then guess what? You’ll never guess….an episode of Fringe. It was good again. I am rather sad that the show didn’t last more than 5 seasons.

F went to bed around 11 and seems to be sleeping now. He’s got a long day tomorrow and might be back late from work. 

I’m not sure what I’ll do tomorrow. I might do some laundry, or I might not. I often wait until Tuesday. I will have to cook dinner again as well.
