Tuesday - Sunny and warm

I woke up around 8:00 a.m. this morning. F had already left for work, so that was nice. He didn’t wake me up today.

I snoozed a bit longer but eventually got up. The news I planned on watching wasn’t on again. I had a quiet morning. I had thought about doing laundry but didn’t. I hope to do some tomorrow. Let’s hope.

I had a quiet afternoon too. I finally caught up with some news at 2 p.m., and then watched an episode of CSI: Las Vegas from the DVR. It was okay. I was glad to get it off the DVR. 

F called me to say he was on his way back to the house so I went downstairs and got a start on dinner. Tonight I made a pork stir-fry and it was pretty good. I enjoyed it anyway. We had it with rice and a salad. K spilled her drink, luckily I hadn’t put too much in her glass. 

After dinner, I cleared the table, put the food away and then did the dishes. I listened to my podcasts again and enjoyed them. I finished, bid K a good night, and then went upstairs. I relaxed for a little while and then F and I got ready to go out.

We went to the grocery store Mina and I got some food for the next couple of days. When I finished there, I dumped the food in the car and then headed into the drugstore next to the market. I needed some detergent for my clothes. I got it and then picked up a few things for myself and K. 

I was a tad surprised when I left the drugstore that F hadn’t moved the car closer. He usually is really nice about doing that. No worries. 

When we got back to the house, I took out the two heavy bags of shopping and the box of tissues for K and bumped up to the door. F did open the door, but then he stormed into the house. As I struggled to get into the door and then close it and lock the door, I said, “That’s okay, I don’t need any help!” To do him credit, he did turn around and I gave him the big box of tissues to put away for his mother. Honestly though…I feel like I live with some oblivious idiot at times. He just never helps me anymore. 

I put the groceries away and headed upstairs. I watched a lot of YouTube and then put on FBI: International and watched that. It was okay. I turned off the TV at midnight and have been working on my blogging!

I’m not sure what I’m going to get up to tomorrow. I hope to do some laundry, so that should be exciting! Anyway, I’m out of here.  Come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….

Monday - Cool but sunny

I went to bed a bit early last night, but F wasn’t able to sleep. I think he was worried about going to work on Monday.

I woke up this morning when F was getting ready for work. Yeah, he woke me up, but I understood. He got ready and left for work. I spent a few minutes looking at my phone and then went back to sleep.

When I got up later I got dressed and grabbed my breakfast. After I ate, I decided to tackle my room. I managed to put away my large suitcase (yay) and then I cleared the area around the kerosene heater in my part of the room. I’m throwing out a couple of bags of clothes that have been wrapped up for years, but no worries. I don’t need them anymore. 

It took a while, but I got it done. Yay. I relaxed and watched Dark Shadows again. It was on cable this morning. It had such potential, but turned out so badly. Eva Green was fabulous as ever, but the film overall wasn’t great.

I grabbed my lunch around 1:45. I noticed that K hadn’t eaten her lunch so I tried to give her some but she didn’t seem to want very much. Oh well.

I went upstairs to eat and watch the news. I had a fairly quiet rest of the day. However, just before 5 p.m., K started calling me downstairs. Okay? I went down and she was all worried about something. I had no idea what she was on about. She had crap spread all over the living room table and kept asking me about F. I told her that he was at work and then I came back upstairs.

I went downstairs around 5:30 to get a start on dinner. F had called me to say that he was on his way. Tonight I just did a simple dinner because I haven’t cooked properly in months! K had another go at me to find out where F was and what he was doing. Er…he’s on his way back to the house, but he’s stopping to pick up some stuff. She didn’t understand so I just got on with my work!

Tonight I made bibinba rice, toaster oven chicken, a broccoli/cauliflower/Romanesque mix, salad, and I opened a packet of potato salad. I didn’t want to start cooking until F got back, so I did my prep. 

Finally, he came back and talked to K. Her laundry rack had broken and she was upset about that. Honestly…I had no idea what she was so worried about.

I got on with dinner and in a little while we were ready to eat. It was the first meal that all of us had together at our new table. It was so nice for me not to have to sit on the floor. I think F got the table and chairs because I told him I wasn’t going to sit on the floor anymore. Honestly, I’m not a spring chicken anymore and I resented having to sit at a table that came up to my chest because I didn’t have a cushion to sit on. 

After dinner was finished, I washed the dishes and put them away. I listened to a couple of podcasts and enjoyed them. I was finished by 8 pm which made me quite happy!

I came upstairs and relaxed in front of my computer. I watched a little YouTube. F had gone to bed and was resting. Around 10:15 or so I went downstairs and took a shower. I also filled up the kerosene tank in the heater in our room. Yay me.

When I came back, F was up on his phone so I asked if he’d mind if I watched some TV. He said no, so I put on WOWOW on Demand and watched the first episode of Three Pines, the detective show based on Louise Penny’s novels. I really enjoyed it. It was just part one, so I don’t know whodunnit yet, but it looks very Canadian! The lead actor is Alfred Molina and he does a pretty good job of it. I also appreciated the subplot of a missing indigenous woman in Canada and even the residential school situation got a nod. I’ll have to try and watch the next part soon.

I turned off the TV when the show finished and then got on with my evening wrap-up. F has gone back to bed and may be sleeping, I have to get moving soon. 

That’s about it for me. I’m not sure what I’m going to do tomorrow, but I think I should do some laundry and I need to think about getting ready for my convention in a couple of weeks.

Sunday - rainy and cloudy and cold

I slept in today on purpose but woke up a couple of times in the morning. F got up fairly early and made breakfast for his mother. He’s a good guy.

After I got up, I waited for F to come back and talk about lunch. However, he didn’t come back to the room until 2 p.m. I assumed that he’d eaten with his mother, but he hadn’t. When he did come upstairs, I suggested that he drop me off at the Indian restaurant and then he go off and get his hair cut. He didn’t seem too happy at my suggestion. It turned out that he’d been outside doing some work on the tires. Oh dear. 

Well, we went out for lunch and he dropped me off at the Indian restaurant. I went in and he went off and had ramen somewhere. At least we both got what we wanted. My food was only okay. I ordered my curry to be a medium and it was a very mild mild. It was a bit disappointing. The naan and the salad were good at least. 

After my meal, I went over to the drugstore across the parking lot and picked up a few things. I had texted F that I was going there, so he joined me for a minute and put something in my basket. I paid a few minutes later and went out to the car. 

We did some grocery shopping next, well, I did anyway. I think I’ll be back to cooking dinner tomorrow night so I needed stuff for dinner and something for K’s dinner and lunch tomorrow. I bought groceries and then came back to the car.

We came back to the house and relaxed for a bit. I gave K her bento and she seemed to be happy. I came upstairs and watched YouTube for a bit. F wanted to go for dinner early, but it was too early for me. We waited until a little after 7 p.m. and then went out.

We made a quick stop at Yamaya to pick up some stuff and then went to Cocos. F had fried oysters and I had a hamburger with a baked potato. We shared their Halloween dessert and it was really nice. It wasn’t that rich or anything so it was quite light.

We came back to the house after dinner and relaxed some more. F took a shower and got ready for work tomorrow. Yep, he’s back to work tomorrow. 

And really, that’s it for today for me. However, I just wanted to mention that Matthew Perry died today. I found out, as I often do, via Facebook. He was always my favourite “Friend”. I’ve watched him in a few movies and enjoyed his performances, I booed him on The Good Wife. It’s sad he had so many personal problems.

Saturday - Rainy and cool

I woke up when my alarm went off and stayed in bed for far too long! I did get up later and got dressed. F had called the doctor in the morning to see if we could go and he suggested that I just pick up the prescriptions while F waited in the car. That’s basically what we did. 

After we picked up the medicine, we went to have lunch. We lunched at the Daiichi hotel and it was quite nice. We both had hamburger patties, I had mine with bread, and F had his with rice. When we finished there, we went to the bus depot and checked on the bus out to the airport. Next month I’ll likely take a taxi to the bus station and then a bus to the airport. I could just take the bus to the station and transfer, but I’ll have a small suitcase and there isn’t much room on the bus. I’ve seen people carry suitcases on the bus and it isn’t great. 

F wanted to buy tires, so that’s what he did. He went to a tire shop and soon enough we had 4 new tires in the back seat of the car! I was surprised.

We came back to the house and I went upstairs to relax. F spent time downstairs before he came upstairs again and took a bit of a rest. 

We were planning to go to the movie tonight so F made K some soba for her dinner. However, she didn’t want to have it. He did offer it to me, but I’m afraid I didn’t want it either!

We left for the mall around 7pm and when we arrived we bought our movie tickets and then went for my dinner. I got a bibinba and F picked up some takoyaki for himself. My bibinba was good, but it wasn’t quite hot enough I thought.

We went over to the cinema when it was almost time and I gave F his ticket. He went in and I got the popcorn and drinks. Tonight we went to see The Creator. I enjoyed it, although I kept thinking about the similarity it had to The Golden Child!

After the movie, we came back to the car and drove back to Tsuruoka. F wanted to pick up a few groceries so we did that. We had to go to MaxValu as it was the only grocery store still open. 

We came back to the house and came upstairs. We had a quiet rest of the evening. I watched some YouTube and worked on my blog, the usual. 

I have no idea what we’ll be doing tomorrow. I’m hoping that we’ll do something rather fun. F is officially out of quarantine now, although he really should have been out earlier as he couldn’t see the doctor when he first got sick.

Friday - Cloudy and cooler

I got up this morning after managing to sleep through the whole night. It feels like it has been ages since I’ve done that. I didn’t sleep well at my sister’s and here I didn’t sleep that well since I was sick.

I got up, had breakfast and got dressed. F snoozed for a bit after he’d had his breakfast, so that was good. After he woke up, he asked me if I needed to go out and get lunch. I was trying to figure out if he was inviting me out for lunch, or inviting me to come out and buy things for his lunch. I never really figured it out!

He ended up going out and buying lunch. He bought me lunch too, but I had my lunch when he was out. Oh dear. It was sushi and rather small, so I did eat it.

In the afternoon, we went out. We went to the mall in Mikawa and had my jeans and my fancy outfit for the Convention next week hemmed. Yay. They should be ready in a week or so.

We had a drink and a doughnut at Mr. Donut downstairs. It was nice to have a little relaxing time. We left the mall and then picked up a few things at the grocery store. We got a bento for K and some things for F. When we delivered it back to the house, K didn’t want her bento. Oh dear.

We waited a few minutes and then F and I went out again. We went over to Coco Ichibanya and had curry for dinner. I had mine with veggies and a handmade chicken cutlet. F had his curry with fried fish. We both liked our meals.

We came back to the house afterwards and had a quiet night in. I decided to watch something off the  Fire Stick, so I watched another episode of The Power…it had been a while for that one, and then I ended up putting on Catwoman. Yes, the old one with Halle Berry. It was just the right kind of movie for my odd mood tonight. It wasn’t demanding and was almost silly, so it was what I wanted!

And that’s about it for my day. Tomorrow I have a doctor’s appointment. F does too, if he’s allowed to go. After that, I’m not sure what. I suggested a movie, but I don’t know if F is really going to be up for that. He often says yes, and then changes his mind at the last moment. Sigh.

Thursday - Sunny and warmish

I tried to get to bed a bit before 3 and did manage to do it. Unfortunately, I woke up around 5 and had to go downstairs. About two minutes later, F came downstairs too. It was rather weird.

I came back upstairs and tried to get back to sleep, but F didn’t get back into bed. He sat at the foot of our bed and used his phone and made a ton of noise. It took me ages to fall asleep again, I’ve no idea when and if he did. 

Today I woke up early, but then turned off all of my alarms so I didn’t get up when I originally thought I would. I did get up eventually and grabbed my breakfast. I ate upstairs and while I was eating, F asked me if I wanted to go out. I wasn’t sure what he was asking. He made it sound like he wanted to go out for lunch. However, he was still under quarantine…I said I’d go and grab anything he wanted from the store, but apparently, that wasn’t what he meant. I know I am getting so tired of being stuck in the house, and I was sick the first week, so I hear him.

He napped in the afternoon, I grabbed my lunch and watched the news. When I finished I told F I could go out if he wanted, but he didn’t!  I don’t think he really knows what he wants to do. I did suggest that we could go out somewhere quiet tomorrow if he’s feeling okay. His temperature is better and he’s doing better. He came up with a bunch of weird ideas which I’m afraid I shot down!

Around 6:30pm, F made dinner for K and then he ordered ours. We went out to pick it up and I grabbed it from the store. We came back to the house and ate our yakitori. It was good, if expensive. 

I took a shower after dinner and then came back upstairs. I watched The Rookie and then turned off the TV. I’m now blogging away and watching some YouTube.

I’m not exactly sure what we’ll get up to tomorrow. We might go out as I’ve got to start preparing for my next trip, or we might stay in again. We could go somewhere for a drive. We’ll have to see what happens and how F is.

Wednesday - Sunny and warmish, rainy at night

I slept in a bit today, but I had set my alarm, so I didn’t sleep quite as late as I did yesterday. 

I grabbed my breakfast this morning, F’s sister was over and was going to take her mother to the doctor. 

I came back upstairs to eat and a bit later F took a nap. He got up and as he often does, left the room and didn’t talk to me. 

Around 1:30 I went downstairs to grab my lunch and F was in the kitchen. He was washing stuff in the sink, and had my small frypan on the table. Sitting on top of it was an open package of pork. I objected to it being there and F got weird. He sat down and was obviously upset with me. I asked him if I was in his way and he said I was. I flounced out of the kitchen and went back upstairs, quite angry.

After 2:30 F came back upstairs and said that he wanted to go out shopping. I went downstairs after a bit of nastiness between us and grabbed my lunch. F gave me 15 minutes to eat my lunch or he wouldn’t let me go shopping with him. I made it, but wasn’t too happy about it.

We went out to a few places. Generally, I went into the shops and did the shopping. Over the afternoon we did get friendlier, I’m glad to say.

We talked about what to have for dinner and decided that we’d get bentos. I went into MaxValu and picked up some bentos for all of us. 

We came back to the house and gave K her bento. F and I took ours upstairs.

We had a fairly quiet evening. Around 9pm, F found the bill he couldn’t find earlier, so we went to the convenience store and I paid it for him. 

Back at the house, I finished the new show I was watching, and a bit later I took a shower. And that’s about it for my day. It was a bit bad in the middle, but ended okay.

Tuesday - Warm and sunny

I didn’t set my alarm this morning, so I overslept. I woke up when F came back into the room. Oops. I got up, had breakfast and then watched a bit of TV.

Later in the afternoon, I grabbed lunch, watched some news and then ended up watching The Green Knight. I really enjoyed it. I did quite a bit of crochet while I watched it. 

F and I decided that we’d order in sushi, so he looked up one place, but it seemed a bit expensive. He ended up ordering takeout from a place a few blocks away. We got three tuna bowls. I went into the store and paid for it all. We brought the food back into the house and F set up his mother’s food on the living room table. She got up to eat. F and I ate upstairs.

Later on, F and I ordered ourselves some yakitori so a few minutes later, we went out to pick it up. I went over to the kiosk and paid. We brought it upstairs and had ourselves a little feast.

I went downstairs to wash my day’s dishes and while I was there, I took out the bread that F made. Yes, today, he made bread with my bread maker! It was really good too!  There is still a little bit left as well.

In the evening I watched FBI: International and afterwards discovered that the On Demand portion of my cable channel is running a detective show based on a Canadian detective novel series. Cool!

Honestly, that’s about it for my day. I will have to do some shopping tomorrow since we need a bit of food. If I’m moved, I might even cook dinner. I don’t really want to, but I probably should. Not sure if we should all eat together though.

Monday - Sunny and warm 

Well, as expected, F went to the doctor today and he has Covid too. Sigh. He got more medicine and is quarantined for another few days. 

While he was out this morning, I started to do laundry. I did a couple of loads. I had planned to do some last week, but was too sick to care!

In the afternoon I had lunch and F made lunch for his mother. I wonder a little bit about him spending so much time with her. We don’t want her sick. 

F and I went to pick up some groceries. He stayed in the car, and I went inside the store. We came back afterwards and relaxed.

Around 6:30 I suggested we talk about dinner, so we ordered some takeaway. F and I went out to pick it up. We came back to the house and tried to get K up to eat, but she decided to eat the food tomorrow. F and I ate at our new table and that was kind of cool. 

I did the few dishes afterwards and then went upstairs. F was trying to sleep I think. Around 10:30 I went downstairs and took a shower. I kept bumping into K! Not sure if she’s wondering why I was there or not. I came back upstairs and F was asleep. I’m really glad though. He just doesn’t sleep much in the daytime. When I was sick, I slept so much. 

Anyway, that’s about it for me for today. I’m not sure what’s going to happen around here tomorrow.
