Remembrance Day - Tuesday - Sunny and warm

A good day.

I got up early this morning, watched Charlie’s Angels while I checked my computer and woke up properly!

After a bit I went over to the chesterfield for a bit of crochet and breakfast.  I got all the squares done for my decoration, well the base of them anyway. I watched the finale of America’s Next Top Model and just as I was about to start moving and dressing my phone rang.  F was offering to buy me lunch.  I accepted so I had to hurry up.

We had a nice lunch at Bikkuri Donkey!!. I couldn’t have the lunch specials as they were too high calorie, so I just had a basic hamburg steak.  It was good though, so I didn’t mind at all.  F drove me home afterwards.

During the afternoon I vegged a bit, watched a bit of TV and then finally got a start on dinner. I completely forgot to do any laundry, so I’ll have to do some tomorrow.

F came home about his usual time and I kicked dinner into higher gear.  I steamed broccoli in the microwave, boiled some potatoes and mashed them, and fried some chicken.  Everything turned out well, except the chicken was a little blackened!  It didn’t really burn thank goodness, it just looked bad on one side. Dinner got good reviews and I liked it too.

After dinner and F doing the dishes, we went out to the grocery store.  We bought groceries for the next couple of nights and F bought flour for making bread.  That was the whole reason we went, but he didn’t make any bread.  Ha!

We came home and each of us watched a bit of TV.  I went over to the chesterfield again during Grey’s Anatomy and darned in a lot of ends in my squares.  I also managed to edge one in the white yarn.  It looks pretty cool!

And that’s about it for my night.  It was a good day.  Tomorrow I hope to do more crochet and some laundry too.  I may even finish the book that I’ve been reading for the last two months!  Woot.

Oh, before I go, today’s decluttering included some never used glasses, cups, more books to book mooch and an old calendar.  I’m up to 66 items cleared away.  Some areas are really starting to look better!

Night.

Wednesday - Hot & sunny, then torrential rain later

A good day.

I got up this morning when F took the bread out of the bread machine.  My first alarm had gone off anyway, and I wanted to be off early if I could.  My foot was bothering me quite a bit, so I only did a couple of rounds at the park and then came home.  I was even back before F left!

I had a nice quiet morning.  I watched my shows, had breakfast and read the paper.  I relaxed a lot.  I fell asleep on Charmed and only woke up when F called.  I dozed off again, and it was almost 12 when I woke up again.  I took a shower and while I was in there, did a bit of cleaning too.  I had been waiting for F to move the bath cover, or empty the bath, but he didn't.  I did instead.  I cleaned some of the walls and know it looks much better in there.

In the afternoon I used my computer and waited for F to come home.  He finally made it around 2:30.  We decided to go out for lunch, so I suggested Bikkuri Donkey!!. They have lunch until 3, so that's what we did.  I had a burger with a big salad, a bit of rice, some deep fried squid and a big bowl of miso soup.  It was good.  F had another dish that was on their lunch menu too.

We checked the craft store for some yarn for me.  I want to work on a baby blanket while I'm on the trip.  I dislike having idle hands unless I'm reading or something.  The craft shop didn't have the yarn I wanted and what they did have was quite expensive.  Sigh.  After the craft shop, F asked if I'd like to go to the Internet Cafe.  I said I would if I could stop by our apartment to pick up my bag.  That was fine, so off we went.

We were able to get in right away and I watched some of the news and I finally finished up the Benedict Cumberbatch movie on Stephen Hawking.  I did some crochet (long handle for my bag) and reading….finished my current novel (Hunting Ground) and read a bit of an old magazine.  I also watched quite a bit of the regular junky TV that I usually watch!

F and I left when our 3 hours were up.  We talked about food and I suggested the Japanese place that I like that does soba, udon and sushi, so we decided that would be fine.  Well, verrry sad to say, when we got there it was closed.  As in gone.  Oh no!  We were quite sad.  I liked it because they always treated me like a customer, not like someone to be scared of or curious about.  We went to Aki for okonomiyaki instead.  We had a good meal there and then bought groceries.

While we were in the Internet Cafe, we didn't know that the weather had changed.  It had rained a lot.  When we were at Aki, it rained a lot too.  However, when we were in the grocery store, it started to thunder, there was lightning and the power even flickered off a few times.  The rain was coming down in sheets, so instead of running to the car, we waited in the little table and chairs section.  It was kind of fun actually.

When it calmed down, we went outside and F drove the car over for me.  We came home and he drove me right to the door.  Sweet! I still got wet though.

The rest of the night was good.  We had a quiet evening, I turned on the TV around 11 for Grey's Anatomy, I did the garbage up before midnight, and F set up the bread-maker again.  With yeast this time!

Anyway, that's it for me.  It turned out to be a good day after all.  Night!

Saturday-Muggy and rainy, bit cooler

An okay day.

I got up early this morning and made the bed and got dressed.  F was still out visiting his mother and the dentist…no, not together…don't be silly.

I spread some newspaper on the bed and then I took all of the dishes out from under my kitchen sink and put them on the bed.  I got the area under the sink cleaned out.  Yay me.

When he came back, F cleaned off the island(peninsula?) by doing his usual throwing everything into a box or bag.  Still, it was cleared off. I haven't seen it look so good in years.

When we were done and resting a bit, he suggested going out for lunch.  Yes…HE did.  Not me.  He wanted to go to his fish restaurant, so we did.  And…I had a great meal there!  I always knew that I liked fish, I just have had bad luck with it! We had the same thing, deep-fried fugu and squid sashimi.  I really liked it.  The fugu came with lemon and it just brightened the taste up so much.  We ate well. We left about 25 minutes to one and came home.

The pipe guys came at 1:00 or thereabouts and were fairly unobtrusive.  They brought hoses into the apartment, but had put down tarps first to save us from the pipe mess.  I let F deal with them anyway as I couldn't talk to them anyway!

After they left, we could hear them working away in other areas of the building.  I read my book, I'm almost done Every Which Way But Dead and I'm loving it!

F and I left for Mikawa a little after 4.  He wanted to go and see Transformers: Age of Extinction.  We got to the mall, and had a quick bite at the food court then went to see the movie. We split up, I bought the munchies, F got the tickets.  For the next 3 hours we were in the theatre watching the movie.  It was 3 hours of my life that I'll never get back again. Awful movie.

We came back to Tsuruoka and got a few groceries and then came home.  I made myself a chicken sandwich which I enjoyed.  I watched a bit of TV too.  X-Files was on!  So cool to see it again.  The free BS channel is starting it soon, so this was a preview.

We had a quiet evening at home and F has gone to bed. He has to go over to his mum's again tomorrow.  I'm not sure what we'll get up to but  I hope it all works out!

Got to go.  Night!

Tuesday - Warm and sunny

An okay day.

I got up before 8:30 this morning. I could hardly believe it myself!

I had a nice quiet morning again.  I dozed off between my two programmes, but woke up in time for Charmed.  I also did a bit of crochet, read the paper and had breakfast.  For the first time in ages I had oatmeal instead of granola.

In the afternoon, I never really sorted out what I wanted to do. I was thinking about going out, but didn't. Cat Ballou was on today and I wanted to see it again, and then I remembered I had a taped show so just stayed home.  I also finished a novel I've been reading today (Conrad's Fate), so it wasn't a bad thing to stay home!

When F came home he was tired again.  He managed to tell me that he was off work tomorrow, but went to bed for a nap.  I woke him up an hour later and we went out for dinner.

Tonight we had dinner at Cocos and it was nice.  F had cold ramen and I had grilled chicken.  He actually said his was "okay" so high praise I think.  Mine was good.  We tried some of their hot teas and that was nice too.

When we came home, I discovered that Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan was on, so I had to watch it of course!  It had been years, and it was still pretty cool.  Some of the effects were clunky, and the computers were huge, but over all, it stood up.  Ricardo Montalban was great.

And that was about it.  I had a good day.  Tomorrow, I know that F wants to do some business with me at city hall, and if we have time, we might go and see a movie or something.  I'll keep you informed!  Come back tomorrow and see what I get up to.  Night.

Friday - Warm and Sunny

A good day.

I had a nice relaxing day today.  I got up this morning, had breakfast, read the paper and ate some icy treat that F brought by!  I wasn't expecting him, but he came by.

I took a shower and afterwards scanned some cards.  I went out to the mall in the afternoon, but I forgot my book.

I had a tea and a sandwich in Doutors and hacked the mall a little.  I bought my dinner at Subway and then came home.  I arrived just as F was leaving for his party, so I was able to say hello and send him off with a wave.

I spent the rest of the evening alone and it was great.  I probably should have watched a movie, but I enjoyed some regular TV instead!  I had dinner, finished my book (Dust by Patricia Cornwell--Meh) and vegged a bit.  It was nice.  F showed up around 1 and is still up.  I hope he'll go to bed soon. I don't really feel like going yet!

No idea what we'll get up to tomorrow.  There are a few movies in town for a change, so I hope we'll go and see at least one of them! Come back tomorrow and let me tell you what I get up to!  Night.

Monday - Sunny and warm, rainy at night

An okay, busy day.

I went to bed just a little bit after midnight last night.  F was sleeping and as far as I could tell, didn't wake up.  Ha!

This morning, when I got up, I got busy!  I spent a few minutes on my computer, then fixed one of my recent projects.  After that, I did something I've been putting off for a few months, I fixed a button on my winter coat! I had a button that was half-off, and today, in the middle of June, I fixed it.  Yay me. I also did something new.  I broke out my new hot glue gun and put a couple of things together.  Woot.

After my shows finished I did computer stuff, laundry and packing.  I packed my suitcase and I packed my box of craft stuff.  I was running around like a crazy woman, but I finally got things done.

Then, I had to scan my cards.  I didn't have that many, so it didn't take that long.  When I finished, I ran them off to the post office and popped them in the mailbox.

F came home quite late, in fact, I was planning to cook dinner for myself when he did. I asked him if he would take me to the freight delivery office and send my box and suitcase.  We did that, and it was a bit of a hassle, but finally, I paid and we were done.  After that, we went to the drugstore for more trip necessities and then came home.  I offered to share my food with F for dinner and he accepted.

I got busy right away, cooking dinner.  We had tandori chicken, and salad, I had couscous and F added in rice and sujiko to his dinner.  It was quite nice.  F did the dishes for us.

The rest of the evening has been quiet so far.  F watched TV, I read my book, and finally finished it.  It was great…Lady Audley's Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon.  I'd never heard of her or it before, but I really enjoyed it.  It was a twisty, changey sort of book.  The kind I wish I'd studied in University.

I'm now watching Suits and trying to relax.  F hasn't said anything yet, so I'm hoping that he's not going to. I'm so tired of fighting and snide comments and not being able to be myself.

Anyway, tomorrow I have a few things I have to do, and I have to pick a book for my trip, charge up my iPod and do a few other things. I'll likely update tomorrow night, but not on Wednesday.  Catch you later?  Night.

Friday - Rainy and cool

A little better today.

I went to bed last night just after midnight.  I think it is ridiculous to try to force me to go to bed that early, but according to him, it wasn't early enough!

I was again woken up in the morning by the TV and lights on in the living room, and not one, but two different alarms in the bedroom.  Better not happen tomorrow!

He left, I tried to sleep longer, but was awake around 8 and got up soon after.  This morning after I checked my computer for emails, I got to work on my project, and finished it.  I think it is rather cute!

Presenting my Scrap T-Yarn Boa

I had a very late breakfast, and then got on with my day.  I watched something I had taped last night and then vacuumed the apartment, or most of it.  Of course, I saw cobwebs after I had finished and put the darn thing away.  Sigh.

F came home a bit late today and was quiet and not all ragey like yesterday.  He said he was tired and had had a busy day.  He went to bed almost immediately, then got up briefly and made himself some ramen.  To do him credit, he did ask if I needed anything to eat, but I told him that I would take something out of the freezer.

He went back to bed and fell asleep immediately.  He's still sleeping about 5 hours later.

I had some carbonara from the freezer.  It was good, if a bit small, plus some Jasmine milk tea.  I read a bit more of my book tonight too.  I'm over 80% done now.  Yay!  It's Lady Audley's Secret, and she has just revealed most of her secret.  It's a classic novel I've been reading for ages, and I am really enjoying it.

I watched a bit of TV tonight with the headphones on so I wouldn't disturb someone.  I have to say I enjoyed the solitude. Also tonight, I worked on a crocheted rose out of tarn.  It turned out okay.  I'm sure another try would be better, but I probably don't have time now!

Well, that's about it for me.  I'm a tad nervous about tomorrow…will he be in a MOOD or will he be back to his more reasonable self?  Tune in tomorrow night and find out!  Night.

Tuesday - Sunny then rainy

A good day.

I got up late today.  It was probably because my sleep pattern got messed up last night.  I tried to go to bed earlier, but didn't get a lot of sleep.

I did my normal morning things. I checked email, read the paper, ate breakfast, watched my telly, and had a nice time. I finished my book too.  Woot. I got dressed and then in the afternoon got on with other stuff.  I tried to update the Flash Player on my computer, but it didn't work and I seem to have lost it from my browser.  Sigh.

In the afternoon,I had lunch. It was yummy.  I took yesterday's leftovers, chopped them up, and sauteed them, then put a lightly fried egg over them.  I should have put either some cheese or some sour cream over them, but I forgot.  Bah!

After I did dishes, I cut up another tee-shirt.  I made some dark blue tarn today.  What will I do with it eh?  I hope I figure it out too!

One thing I didn't do today was start my column. Sigh.  Must do that, must!

When F came home it was raining, but we changed and went out anyway.  We wanted to have a Hanami together, but the rain was really nasty and the park was nearly empty. Half of the stalls were either closed or closing when we got there, it was sad. We walked through the trees a bit, but it was hard to take pictures with an umbrella in one hand!

After a quick once around the park, I insisted nicely that we leave.  I was getting quite damp and I didn't want to get sick.  We went back to the car and then I suggested going to Hyakkenbori for dinner.  It was empty when we got there, so we were able to be seated right away.  It was rather nice.  I had teriyaki chicken and F had a tempura dinner.  We both enjoyed our meals, although I would have liked to have some dessert after!

F suggested that we go to Mr. Donut after our meal, so that's what we did.  We each had a doughnut and tea or coffee.  It was quite relaxing really.

We came home afterwards and had a quiet evening in.  F is off work tomorrow so he's staying up a bit later than I'd like.  He's got a couple of appointments for himself though so he won't be underfoot all day.

That's it for me for tonight.  I'll try to write tomorrow night.  Talk to you then I hope.  Night!

Monday - Sunny and warm

A good day.

I got up a little late this morning, but not very late!  I came through to the living room and relaxed, checked email and after a bit ate breakfast and read my papers from the weekend.

F called me at 11:30 to invite me out for lunch, just as I was going to go and have a shower.  I asked him if I could skip it, and he didn't mind.

In the afternoon I read part of the book I'm reading (Cry Wolf) and made a t-shirt into Tarn. It worked out rather well.

I never did go out today and I still haven't started my column. I finished up my scarf from Friday by hemming the raw edges. I cooked dinner, which for some reason got quite good reviews.  I did chicken drumsticks, salad, new potatoes and urui which is a new-to-me-as-a-cook Japanese plant.  I'm not big on adventures when it comes to them.  I did part of the dishes and then F did in the rest.

In the evening I read a lot of my book, wrote a little email and started a tarn-bag.  I'm not sure if I like it much, but I do love the colour!

I watched Newsroom, which was great, and had a nice quiet evening.  Tomorrow I should get going on my column. I may even go out and try to get a start on it out of the apartment.  F and I might go and look at the hanami in the evening when he comes home from work.  We'll see what happens then.

That's it for me for tonight. Oh, wait, I'll toss in a couple of pictures of my last scarf from Friday.  I really like it.  What do you think?

Night.
