Saturday - Hot and sunny

Today turned out okay, but part of it was still frustrating. I woke up first at 8:30. I went downstairs and then came back up to the room. I went back to bed for a while.  F came in the room around 11:30 and asked if I was ready to go for lunch. I wasn’t.

I told him truthfully that I needed to take care of a personal chore, so I did that first. When I finished I came back upstairs and we talked about where to go. F did that thing where he whined that no place he picked was good enough for me so he refused to pick a place. Sigh.

I suggested going to Murakami, the newish restaurant near the Komagihara Spa. We went there, but before we went upstairs I noticed a sign that said the restaurant was full for the next 4 days. Oh wow! We went back to the car and sat for a while. I suggested a nearby Chinese restaurant and F didn’t say much for a while. He literally just sat in the car and didn’t move. He didn’t talk to me, he just sat there. I was almost worried that he’d had a seizure!

We did end up going to the Chinese restaurant and got in right away. They had a lunch menu and we both ordered off the menu. F had shrimp in a chilli sauce and I had mapo-dofu. Both our meals were good and I think we enjoyed ourselves. Again, F didn’t really seem to want to leave the restaurant and it took a while before he was ready to go.

We went over to Komeda Coffee to have kakigori! We were able to get seated right away and then we ordered. F had the lemon flavoured one, and I had the Blue Hawaii one. I liked mine, but I didn’t love it. I did try F’s, it was okay but mine was better!

F got sleepy and wanted to come back to the house to sleep. I wasn’t happy if I’m honest, but what could I do? We came back to the house and F had a 5 minute nap and then went downstairs I think. I ended up taking a nap that was quite nice. After that, I went on my computer for a while.

Around 6:30 F started asking about dinner. He wouldn’t suggest any places and he wouldn’t say what kind of food that he wanted to eat so I found it frustrating. Finally I suggested a couple of places. I said either the small Korean restaurant or another Japanese/fish or tonkatsu place. F wasn’t terribly happy with either idea, but agreed. We ended up going to the Korean place. We were the only customers and had a lovely meal. F wanted a mostly meat menu, which surprised me a lot. We ended up having some spicy fried chicken (Yum!), some gyoza-like dumplings and some bulgogi. That was like a stew with lots of veggies. Everything was delicious and I really liked it all. The ladies that were working were worried that the chicken would be too spicy for us, but honestly it was fine!

After our meal we headed back towards the house. I asked F if we could stop at a conbini or a drugstore. I preferred a drugstore since I wanted some munchies and they are cheaper at the drugstore. F sailed past all of the drugstores, and even the conbini so I suggested going to the drugstore that is past his house.

The drugstore was great, it had a lot of stuff in it and the snacks were on sale, so that was a bonus. We bought ourselves some cold drinks to bring to the house as well.

We came back to the house and I put the stuff in the kitchen that needed to go there and then brought the rest upstairs. I relaxed for a while and also watched an episode of The Boys. It was wild as usual. I went downstairs briefly and then came upstairs again to watch The Spencer Sisters. It was silly, but harmless.

And that’s about it. I turned off the TV and have spent the rest of the night watching YouTube and working on my internet places!

I have no idea what we’ll get up to tomorrow. I did ask if we could go to the Falls near Sakata tomorrow night, BUT there is word that a typhoon might be heading our way. If it is rainy or super windy, we probably won’t go. For the rest of the day, I have no idea. It’s quite sad to be honest!

Come back later if you like and read all about my day. Until tomorrow….
