Wednesday - Hot, sunny and so humid

I woke up slightly this morning when F left. He turned on the AC for me, which was greatly appreciated. I slept on and didn’t wake up properly until my alarm went off. I went downstairs and came back up to the room afterwards. I read stuff on my phone for a while, too long actually, so I only had a few minutes for my nap. I had a quick nap, but then got up.

I took my laundry downstairs and started a load, then I grabbed my breakfast and brought it up to the room. I did a couple of loads of laundry today, I’m glad as I was supposed to do some last week, but didn’t get around to it.

When I went downstairs to get my lunch I decided that I should text F and let him know that we’d had a delivery during the day and I missed it. He called the delivery company and asked them to redeliver it. They said they’d be by in 15 minutes. I wasn’t too happy if I’m honest. I was in the kitchen where it was roasting and I wanted to go upstairs and watch one of my shows. But…I had to wait for the delivery. To be fair, they were quicker than 15 minutes, but it was so hot in the kitchen and I was a sweaty mess! The delivery was another two boxes of sports drink so I got the guy to put it on the step in the house and that was that. I texted F to tell him it arrived and I went upstairs with the rest of my lunch.

I didn’t have time to watch my show, so I just watched some YouTube and relaxed. I watched the US news too and then a bit after 5, F called to say he was on the way back.

I went downstairs and about the same time I got there, F arrived too. We did have a nice reunion and then I got on with dinner. I even gave F and K a glass of the tea I bought on Sunday, a watermelon-lime tea. It was really nice. It’s quite sour, but very refreshing in my opinion.

Tonight’s dinner was not stressful and I’m so glad. I made toaster oven chicken, cucumber pickle, and broccoli (from frozen). We also had some potato salad, a salad and some mini-tomatoes. Well, K and F had those, I didn’t. F had made rice for us so we had that in varying amounts. It was quite a nice meal. I did the dishes after we finished eating and then tackled the garbage. Urgh. I’m not sure who is putting all the yucky stuff in the garbage but I wish they’d stop!

I told F that I was going upstairs when I was finished. I took a can of root beer and some ice up with me. I enjoyed the heck out of that root beer.

Around 10:30 I went downstairs to take my shower and just let F know I was down there. I did the thing and then I went back upstairs afterwards. I didn’t have a lot of time to watch anything tonight so I put on an episode of Loot and watched that. It was quite funny.

And basically that was my day. It was hot again today. I’ve been living under the AC and I don’t think I’d survive without it.

I’m glad that F and I are okay again, but now I’ve got only a couple of weeks to look at my column and get it written. I thinking of not doing the topic in the Journal for a change, but to do something on my own.

Anyway, come back later if you like and hear all about my day. Until tomorrow….

It must be difficult to find root beer in Japan. When I was there, I'd crave diet Dr. Pepper which was only available (as far as i knew) in one shop in Tokyo, almost an hour from my apartment and 300 yen a can. Did I buy it? You bet I did! Lol. Got to have a treat now and then!

Japanese summers are so brutal! Keep that AC going and stay cool in that terrible heat and humidity.

It was difficult before. I used to order it from the Foreign Buyers Club, but a case arrived damaged and I stopped ordering it. I also went on a diet, so no soda for me! Now....Costco!! I bought two boxes of 12 last time I went. The only bad thing is that F likes it too and he's known to have a can. MIL steals the odd can too if she finds it, but I don't know if she likes it!

We have an import food store in Tsuruoka now, so I can get it sometimes there, but it is 227 a can, cheaper than in your days here, but it is usually sold out.

I would run the AC 24 hours a day if I could. It's getting its workout now. It's not that hot right now, but the humidity is 76% which is a bit high for comfort.
