Clear and sunny. Nice day.
I was having a bizarre little dream when I woke up this morning. I think I was working in the Mode offices. I'm not sure if I was Ugly Betty herself, or just someone in the office. I have no idea what was happening, but I didn't want to wake up properly.
I got up, watched the news, and had fun around the apartment! I watched The 4400 today. It was good. It's sad that it couldn't get wrapped up properly, but I liked it. My favourite character, Marco was given an ability right at the end of the show, so it is sad that they didn't let him work with it. Still, it might have turned into Heroes, so it's probably good that they didn't.
After The 4400 I went out. First I went to the bank machines to do a little wheeling and dealing, then over to the post office to pay for my UNICEF Christmas cards and get a revenue stamp for my re-entry permit. It was a nice trip and the weather was gorgeous. I stopped off at the convenience store to get a bit of lunch.
At home I relaxed more. I downloaded some pictures from the net for my students tomorrow. I have to teach them adjectives so need pictures that help them out.
When Fumihiko came home he was hungry! He hadn't eaten lunch today. We decided to go to the okonomiyaki place, but needed gas for the car first. He drove to the gas station and on the way we saw the revolving sushi place, the good one. We decided to go there instead. It wasn't very busy today so we were seated right away. We had a very nice meal, but I ate too much. It's funny, but even after being off my low carb diet for more than a year, rice and I just don't get along very well.
We bought some groceries for dinner tomorrow night and on Friday night. I have an early evening on Friday. However, I found out that my husband may not have an early night back tomorrow or on Friday. He's actually "off" work tomorrow to go to a union meeting in Yamagata. Now, if I was in this union, I think I'd get rid of the silly idea of employees having to take their own time off to attend the meeting. It's not like my hubs even wants to be in the darn union!
When we came home, we decided to watch a movie. Well, I did. My choice for today was Pretty in Pink. It was one of those Molly Ringwald--High School is Hell movies from the 80's. I'm not sure if I saw it in the theater when it first came out. I might have as I was a huge Andrew McCarthy fan, but it didn't have as much impact on me as The Breakfast Club for example. Anyway, two things struck me this time around. James Spader was (is??) an uberbabe and even though Molly was channelling Project Runway-the Teen Years, her prom dress was butt ugly. Fumihiko said he liked the movie.
We talked a little bit about the whole rich/poor thing in the movie. Fumihiko was a jock, so I don't know if he was one of the cool kids or not. I was not. However, my school didn't really have rich versus poor as we were all poor! We did have the party kids and the smart kids. My friends and I basically fell into the smart kids group. It was a reminder of how things that seemed so important at the time really aren't anymore.
We had a quiet evening at our mutual keyboards. Fumihiko had the TV on, but there wasn't much of interest tonight. I've taped a show for tomorrow, and I look forward to watching it then.
I have to have an early night tonight because I am going to get up and go out for breakfast with my husband. I am not a morning person so I have to get lots of sleep first!
Anyway, I have to go. Have a good day/night. Bye!
