Saturday - Clear, with some snow

A good day.

I got up this morning and took a shower.  I had some tea and then F came home. We drove to the doctor’s clinic and spent the next hour or so waiting!

We had lunch today at Naa, the farm restaurant that F likes. It was very nice, but my fish was quite bony today.  I’m not a fan of that.  Over lunch I talked to F about a few things that needed to be said and suggested.

Basically, what is coming up is we are moving.  We have to move since we are living in Prefectural housing.  We will be moving in with F’s mother in their house.  I am extremely upset about this to be honest.  We don’t get on very well and I’ll be there on my own with her during the day.

However, we have to leave this apartment at the end of next month and F has done nothing to get ready for the move.  I suggested a few things like getting rid of futons and quilts that we inherited but never used, getting in a cleaning service near the end to do some of the heavy cleaning and I brought up the fact that we’ll really have to be out earlier than the end of the month so that we can clean thoroughly.  We’ll also need a moving service of some kind because we have some heavy things that need moving.  Ack.

We came home after lunch because F wasn’t feeling well again and he went back to bed.  While he snoozed I did a bit of sorting in the kitchen, sorting and throwing out.  I made myself some tea and offered F some.  He came back into the living room, had some tea and actually went through a few things.  It’s a start at least.

We had dinner at Nagomi, the little Japanese udon restaurant and it was nice.  I had wanted Indian food, but when F suggested Nagomi I was quite happy to go there.

After dinner, we went for tea in a little coffee shop near the restaurant, then hit up the drugstore for a few things we need around the apartment.

At home again, F was rather unwell again.  I’m quite worried about him. He’s feeling dizzy much of the time.  It may be the new medicine that he has to take, I’m not sure.

We had a quiet evening at home.  I had a bit of couch time for some blanket square sewing, and then did a bit of knitting for good measure.

Tomorrow I’m not sure what we’ll get up to.  I’m hoping that there will be a bit of sorting or packing, but you never know around here.  Come back later and see what I get up to on Sunday.  Until tomorrow….

I am so incredibly sorry for you that this move is necessary. Even in the best of circumstances, moving into the domain of another adult is difficult, but what you're about to face is so much harder. I wish you luck, of course, and hope for the best, but this is almost certainly going to be rough for you because of all that will come along with this.

Is there a reason you have to leave your current housing?

I'm so sorry about the move. I don't have a MIL (deceased) but can't imagine living with her! She was very nice but......

Hope things go well. Maybe a different apartment instead of her house??

Wishing you the best of luck. Hang in there. Laura

Wow--big move coming up. That's no fun at all.

Definitely hire a cleaning service, especially considering the inflexible standards of cleanliness that Japanese seem to hold fast to. You'll have enough to do just packing and unpacking.

Whatever luck and good vibes I have to spare, I'll send your way!

Thanks everyone.

Orchid64, we've lived in Prefectural housing "too long" apparently. They are making us move out.

F doesn't want to pay for another apartment and says it would be too much money. It is his house, so I see his point of view, but _I_ don't want to live in his house since it is out in the middle of nowhere and isn't the kind of house that I have ever wanted to live in. I did for two years when we first got married.

Rosa, the cleaning service idea was thought to be a good one, so that is a good sign.

Thank you for commenting. I'm in a rush at the moment so I can't comment more.

Uh oh, moving in with the MIL... Now that's big news. I wish I had some words of wisdom, but already knowing you aren't looking forward to it, there isn't much I can say to reveal a silver lining. Hoping for at least a modicum of peace for you all.

Thanks CTM. I'm not sure I can hack it to be honest. I don't even have work this time around to get me out of the house. I can't speak Japanese, she can't speak English...I personally think it isn't going to work out. But, I will try it out.

Thank you for visiting and commenting and your good wishes!
