Snowy and cold. Not a nice day weather wise.
Well, I'm somewhere in Yunohama, wishing I was anywhere else. I've managed to make my husband angry at me again, and I have a screaming headache that has been building all afternoon. Hurray for me.
I went to bed really late last night and so I slept in equally late. It didn't seem to bother Fumihiko who slept late for a while too, then got up and played computer games.
We each packed a few things into some bags and left our apartment. Of course it was me who did the necessary things like turn off the water and turn off the water heater. We drove first to the grocery store. Someone needed beer for tonight. I got a few things, like cheese, but nothing much really. We stopped in Gusto for a quick meal, then drove out here to Yunohama.
The hotel is quite nice, but it's up on a hill, it's not near the ocean at all. We have a reasonably good view of the ocean, but the view of the sunset wasn't that good. There was a hill in the way. We did take a bath before dinner, and I was lucky enough to have the ladies part all to myself. We arranged to meet outside the baths at the place where the benches and vending machines were, or so I thought. After my bath, I went up there, had some water, waited for Fumihiko. I had more water. Waited. Water. Waited. Finally I thought that maybe there was something wrong so I went back down to the bathrooms, and saw my husband waiting on a bench outside the rooms. We'd both been waiting about 15 minutes for the other, but in different places.
We came back to the room for tea and relaxation before dinner and then we went downstairs. The dinner room was near the bathrooms, which I thought was odd.
There was a lot of food, and most of it was quite nice. We had a crab each, then there was some sashimi, some grilled fish, some grilled kamaboko and some daikon with miso on it. There was also one of the local specialities, cod soup. Unfortunately, mine had big chunks of fish and tofu in it, so I broke up the tofu and took a piece of it out to eat. I was told that that was not polite and I should bring the bowl up to my mouth to slide the tofu in. I replied that it was nice of him to tell me, but I didn't care and would eat it any way I wanted. Unfortunately, instead of stopping there, I got another diatribe about polite eating habits in Japan. Well, I lost my appetite for the soup then and there, finished my crab, ate a few mouthfuls of other foods and then was done.
We came back to our room, where the futons and quilts were already laid out, so I got into mine and pulled the covers up. When I was asked what was wrong, I said that I didn't like being lectured about polite eating habits. Then I was once again railed at. The way I eat soup is wrong. I shouldn't take food out of it. So, I told him that I would no longer eat soup with him. And I won't either. We had a few more words and he stormed out.
I lay there, with my head pounding for about an hour, then got up and had a drink of water. I still feel horrible, so I'm going to go to bed for real now. I can't help wondering if my headaches are tension based. I really think they are.
I have to get up at 8 am tomorrow, actually earlier for breakfast, so I'm going to end this now. I'm sure breakfast will be an exciting experience as it features mochi, a food I hate.
Got to go before my head explodes. Night night.
