January 14, 2008 - Monday

Snowy, windy and cold. It was -1 on the overpass tonight.

A day that didn't start well. We were both quite angry with each other this morning despite talking quite a bit during the night. I was uncomfortable in the room. It was too hot and we'd left the hallway light on at first which shone through a hole in the floor. I really like my rooms dark so I couldn't sleep. And, sleeping on futons! Urgh. I don't like them anymore. I did it for a few years myself, but I slept on two futons so it was much softer than this one thin one.

Breakfast was a chore to get through. We didn't talk to each other during the whole thing, then went back up to the room. I asked how soon we could leave, so basically we were on the road by 8:45. Came home where someone left for a couple of hours then came home and slept. I slept on the couch for a bit.

Things continued like this until the evening, when I finally got him to talk to me about what was going on. Both of us have big worries going on at the moment, I don't want to go into it here as it's a little too public. Neither of us is really feeling happy with the world, so rather than share our feelings (is this too touchy feelie?) we shut each other out. Anyway, we talked, hugged, and then did some work on my permanent residency papers. Hurray for that.

We went out to my school to turn on the heater's timer for tomorrow, then to M's Dining for dinner. We had a nice meal and a good time together. On the way home we did some grocery shopping. I think he's going to cook tomorrow night. Ginger pork, I think.

We watched two episodes of Ugly Betty tonight. I had taped last week's one, but we didn't watch it, so we got last weeks, and this weeks as well. It was a hoot. Alexis made her move... I know that the show isn't terribly intelligent, but it is fun. I like the characters, and the actors that play them.

And that was it, my day. Tomorrow I'm back to work. I'll have to walk to work most likely. There is so much snow at the moment and when I get to my school I'll have to shovel my parking space. Wish me luck!

Night night.
