Snowy, with a bit of sun in the afternoon, then back to snowy.
Last night I went to bed early (for me). It was around 1:30. I think my husband was pretty surprised, but I was tired and worried about the morning. I didn't sleep terribly well as it is difficult to find a comfy position for my hip.
Today I got up at the normal time, although I woke up ages earlier! I did my usual morning stuff, except I took my shower at 10 instead of 11:30. Good for me.
I watched the weekend's TV again, including Project Runway. I don't know quite why I love that show so much, I just do! I also saw both CSI's that are on too. Okay fun. I ate lunch quite early, around 1:30 today and then left for work just a little after 2 pm.
Walking to work wasn't that fun. There was a ton of snow out there, and almost no sidewalks down the side streets. However, the main street's sidewalks were fine, so that was good. I got there in fairly good time, but the sun was shining so I was almost blinded by the sun and halfway to the school my hip really started to protest.
When I got to my school, I dumped off my backpack, grabbed my shovel and my "dump" and set to work. First I cleaned the front steps to the building, then along the front of all the doors. After that, I went to my parking space and nearly had a conniption. Some person had piled a huge amount of snow in my parking space. I not only had to clean up the snow from my space, but also the snow from their space. I didn't know whether to have a crying fit, cancel my classes or get to work. I chose to get to work. I used the shovel to find the outer edges of my space, then the dump to move lots of the snow. I had to take the snow outside onto the road, there was way too much to pile it all at the back of my space like I usually do. I worked on that snow for about an hour and a half. Finally I got most of the snow cleared away, and it was time for me to go in and get ready for my first class.
I changed, dried my hair, and got ready. At 5 I expected my student. By 10 after I was getting worried. I even tried phoning his home, but there was no answer. Finally, at 5:25 he showed up. He'd had an assembly at school so couldn't leave on time. Not really his fault. We didn't do the complete lesson, but we did quite a bit and had some fun too.
In the break between my classes I was supposed to check the parking space and prepare for next week's classes. I did a little prep, but I just couldn't force myself to go outside again! Still, when my next student didn't arrive on time, I went out to the parking space to check if the place was okay. It was. Two minutes after I got back inside, she rang the doorbell. Whew!
We had a good class too, and worked on a few things. I've been trying to stretch this student's use of imagination and take her a little further in her English. She had to write dialogues today. She started well, but it turned into a boring little conversation, so I "helped" her and it became interesting!
After class, I cleaned up the school and finally called Fumihiko. When I got him, he was at his mother's, but said he'd pick me up soon. He arrived a bit after 9. I told him about the parking space and the mound of snow, so he went off to see it, despite me telling him that I'd already cleared it. Silly guy!
Although I had planned to cook dinner tonight, I was just too tired. My hip is really sore and I just couldn't face doing prep work before eating. I begged off. I'll cook everything tomorrow, I promise. We went to Cocos instead and had a nice meal. I had chicken, Fumihiko had noodles.
We came home and had a quiet evening at home. Fumihiko has just gone off to bed, and I plan to follow soon. I'm yawning at my keyboard.
Night night.
