Clear and sunny...in Fukushima at least!

I'm back! I survived the weekend and had a surprisingly great time. The hotel that we stayed in was posh but very nice, we took time out on Sunday to meet another member in my women's group, and spent a lot of time together without fighting. Hurray!

Today, Fumihiko got up early and went to the Spa at the hotel. I slept on. We went for breakfast, had it, and then came back to the room. I napped for a bit and then we finished packing up. We checked out, but came back into the hotel for our "free coffee and cake". It was free, but the hotel was so expensive that they should have given us a lot more than cake!

I thought we'd be driving off home after that, but Fumihiko wanted to go to a couple of places first. He took me to a Glass Museum. It was quite interesting, and the nice thing was there was some English labels, so I wasn't relying on my husband for info. After that, we went to an Art museum. The artist is a Japanese comedian who paints. He's quite good, I had sent a calendar of his stuff to a relative a few years ago. We had a nice poke around the museum and then I bought a couple of postcards in the giftshop.

We headed back north afterwards. We discussed whether or not to go to Sendai, but decided not to. We couldn't think of anything that we wanted to do there. I did request that we go to Yamagata city to the Toys "R" Us store. They have great stuff, and every once in a while I get something I'd like for my school.

We got into Yamagata around 4 and had "lunch" at Bikkuri Donkey, then drove aimlessly around looking for the mall. We finally found it. We did the Toys R Us thing and I got some chocolates for my students for Valentine's Day, but not much else. Oh well. I lusted after some Crayola crayons, but I have so many already that I don't use that it was easy to put them down.

I bought us a coffee after the shopping then we headed back to the car. I made Fumihiko input the mall's location into the GPS. It took him a bit, but he finally did it. Yay.

We drove home, off the main highway. I dozed a lot of the way, then woke up and kept Fumihiko company.

We came home and checked the answering machine, nothing. We waited around until 9:00 pm in case a student of mine should call, but no-one did. So, we went out. We took some things over to my school, and then we had dinner at Grado.

After dinner we bought a few groceries, then came home. We had a quiet evening here, we watched ER. It was quite interesting really. Full of seed planting I'd say.

And that's it. Tomorrow we're both back to work. I'm looking forward to it, basically.

Oh, for some reason, it seems like I've put my hip out. I was wondering if it was from sitting in the car so much this weekend. It's fine when I'm sitting, but when I get up it's really painful. Sigh.

Got to go. Night night!
