Sunday - Sunny and clear. Woot!

Happy Birthday to me!

Well, as I left you last night, F gave me a huge present. I was quite surprised as I was almost positive he hadn’t bought me anything yet. Turns out, he got it yesterday while I was at work. He got me…drumroll please…a bread-maker! I had been wondering about getting one for a while. I wasn’t really convinced as I’d quite like to go back to low-carbing but I guess F decided to make sure I wouldn’t go back.

I was quite pleased, even though I’m not usually a fan of getting appliances for birthday presents, I did really want one. I haven’t used it yet, we’ll have to figure out how to use it and get the ingredients.

We went to bed rather late last night. I actually went to bed a bit before F. I think I was still slightly awake when he came to bed, but honestly can’t remember. I slept in this morning, and it wasn’t until the afternoon before I got up. Sigh.

I opened my other presents before we went out. I did quite nicely. My BFF had sent me some make up (in lovely colours for me) and a couple of books, my sister had sent me a pair of yoga pants (so comfy!) and a t-shirt. It has short sleeves or I’d have worn it today. Anytime I wear a short sleeved shirt in winter I get the “Aren’t you cold?” interrogation from everyone! Well, no, or I’d wear a sweater or long sleeves, wouldn’t I?

We had lunch at Patio in the mall. F had ramen with pork and I had tuna and mushroom pasta with salad and soup. He was complaining because he had too much meat, but I said it was funny, because apart from a bit of bacon on my salad, I wasn’t having any meat!

F left me in the mall for a bit while he went to his home and took care of his mother. I didn’t mind as I rarely get a chance to go shopping alone. I hacked around the stores. I got a couple of things at the 100 yen shop and a few more at the grocery. I was pretty restrained though. F met me about 2 hours later and we had a drink at Doutors before going home.

After a bit of vegging at home, F decided to take a bath. It was around 6 pm so I thought he was crazy. I suggested going for dinner first. My first choice, Bistro des Pointes was closed (I TOLD him to make a reservation last month, but he knew better), so he took me to the teppanyaki room at the Daiichi Hotel. We had a lovely meal of Yamagata Beef, with lots of veggies, miso soup, garlic rice, salad, and dessert.

We came home after our meal and spent a nice evening together. I was on my computer for most of it, F on his cell phone. He blogs on his phone apparently. I’ve never seen his blog as I don’t use my cellphone for that.

So, that was my birthday. It really was a nice day. Hurray! I’m not exactly thrilled about being older, but I tend to forget how old I am anyway. Night!

Happy birthday!

Your husband rocks presents! Does he give lessons? :)

I love teppanyaki but it is not as yummy here as at Japanese Village at home for some reason!

Thanks Medea! It's taken a lot of training for my husband to get to this point! Some years he messes up but this year was good.

I only ever went to the Japanese Village once and I couldn't afford very much, so I'm not sure. This was really nice.

Thanks for visiting :-)

Belated birthday wishes Helen. Sounds like you had a lovely day. I'm on the fence over a breadmaker too. really want one but don't have the space. I've told self that when all the kids stuff (plastic plates) etc have left I will buy one.

Thanks GW. We don't have the space either! I think we'll have to keep it on top of the microwave or in a corner of the table!

No kids here...just a lot of stuff!
