Sunday - Clear, sunny and warm

I went to bed rather late last night, but I had decided I’d just sleep in until I woke up. I almost did! My alarm went off around 11 am, so it woke me up, but it did take about 40 minutes for me to actually get out of bed!

Anyway, when I got up, I checked my email and read my blog, then I relaxed for a bit. F suggested going out for lunch which was fine with me, but I insisted that he check on his mother first and make sure that she had something to eat.  He made her a quick lunch and got her up to eat.  Then, we went off.

We went over to East, the Grand El Sun restaurant.  We had a delicious lunch, even though it was a little small! We both had roasted pork and some soup, focaccia, salad and there was drink bar too. We spent a while there and just relaxed. Unfortunately, F relaxed a little too much. He started listening to TikTok without headphones. I gently suggested he put on his headphones but he said he didn’t have them with him. He did turn down the volume a little, but I could still hear his phone.

When we left the restaurant, we only had a bit over an hour before our next appointment. We tried to go to a new place, but it was really busy, so then we went to B-Flat which is up the road from the house. We had coffee and dessert there. Everything was very nice, but I’m still unsure if I like the place. It’s very…clean…sterile for a coffee shop. In my opinion, it needs to be a bit more scruffy…comfy-er.  The seats are okay, but it is still a bit too new to be a place I want to spend a lot of time in.

Next up, we went over to Netz, which is F’s car dealership.  We had been invited to come and take a test drive of a Corolla. I’ve been after F to ask for some test drives for a while since otherwise, he’d be buying a car without trying it. To me, that makes no sense, but he thought he wouldn’t be able to do that! We took the car out for a spin with one of the guys from the dealership in the backseat. The car was quite nice. I didn’t love it, but I did appreciate the fact that F wouldn’t be banging my leg with the gearstick when he changed gears anymore.

We went back to the dealership and went in to chat. They told us the price, F asked for discounts and they did a lot of negotiating. The upshot is that F is going to get a new car in a few months! Hurray for that…I guess!

After this, we were both a bit surprised and shell-shocked! We decided that we should grab something for K’s dinner. We went to the grocery store, picked up a few things and then went back to the house. F heated up the bento and made K some soup, we warmed up the living room and then got K up to eat.

We went out for our dinner and since neither of us had a real preference for where to go I suggested going for yakiniku to Togashi. We went, were able to get in right away and had a fabulous meal. We shared some egg soup, and a kimchi medley, and also had an assortment of meat. As usual for Togashi, the food was excellent and we had a great time. Well, until F started watching TikTok again with no headphones. Sigh.

When we finished our meal, we went back to the house, forgetting to go to the convenience store. We didn’t park, we just set off again. F paid the bill he had forgotten to pay, we bought a couple of things, and then we left for the house again.

We came in and upstairs and got on with our evening. I decided not to take a shower tonight so I watched another episode of Yellow Jackets. It was rather interesting. This was the episode with the plane crash and just afterwards.

We relaxed tonight. F finally went to bed. He’s got the day off tomorrow as it is a national holiday here. I’m not really sure what we are going to do with ourselves.

That’s it for me! Until tomorrow….
