Wednesday - Rainy, then clearing later on.

I got up at a reasonable time this morning, but when I looked outside it was pouring. Sigh. My foot was also a bit sore so I decided that I'd stay home after all. I'm a bit sad, but it's okay.

I spent a quiet day at home. I did a bit of vacuuming but other than that relaxed.

F came home a little after 7 and we went for dinner soon after. He wanted to go to a Japanese place so I said it was okay. It wasn't really. The place we went wasn't horrible, but there was a fish soup tonight. I couldn't eat the fish in the soup. It smelt weird to me. Ironically I also had some sushi and that was fine. I had a bit of soba and some tempura too.

After the restaurant we made a quick stop by my school. I wanted to see how everything was. It looked fine, so I grabbed the flyers from the door and put them inside. We came home and F disappeared into the bedroom. I tried to wake him up for Desperate Housewives, but he said no. I suggested that he change into his pyjamas, so he did that a bit later. I haven't seen him since.

I made myself a cup of tea and watched about 3 episodes of The Big Bang Theory. That show just cracks me up. I'm not into physics at all, but I've known people like Sheldon and Leonard in my past!

That's about it for me for today. It really was a quiet day. I'm sorry that I didn't make it out to the big mall, but I might be able to go out there next week. I've enjoyed my long break from teaching, but on the other hand, I'm looking forward to seeing students again.

I'll catch you tomorrow. Night!

I was a little cool on BBT early on, but it has gotten better. It's imperfect as sometimes the writing gets lazy, but it's generally quite funny because the actors carry things off well even when the writing isn't solid. The Penny character in particular gets much better after the first half season or so. I'm also glad when Johnny Galecki starts dialing back the nerdy tone in his voice as time goes by (it was a bit much). Still, it's pretty solid, and a lot of the geek stuff is on the mark!

I'm about halfway through the first season and am really enjoying it. I liked Johnny Galecki when he was on Roseanne and was happy to see him in something else.

I think most comedies like this need a bit of time to grow and for the actors and writers to know what works.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Wil Wheaton episodes when they come on...mostly cause I read his blog from time to time.

Thanks for commenting :-)
