Sunday - Hot and muggy
I woke up this morning a bit later than I usually do, so that was nice. It was so hot in the room and I was sweating, that’s probably why I woke up. I went downstairs and then came back to bed.
I stayed in bed for a little longer, then got dressed and went downstairs. I grabbed the food that I bought last night and heated up some of it. I took it upstairs to eat. F was bopping around. I’m not sure what he was doing. The lady who is K’s care manager was coming today at 1 pm so I went downstairs at 12:45 or so. I was trying to talk to F and suggest that he get his mother up so she would have time to go to the toilet and get dressed…but I couldn’t find him. He wasn’t in the toilet which is where I assumed he was. I cleared a bit off the table and then I looked at the door and saw a shadow outside the door. It was the care manager!
I invited her into the living room and sent F a text. She wanted to know where K was, well, she was asleep in the next room. I was going to wake her up, but the Care Manager said not to! I tried calling F but he didn’t answer. I was a bit annoyed and frustrated with him.
She wanted me to sign some paper for her, but to be honest, I wasn’t comfortable about that. A few minutes later, F came in and was surprised that she was there.
Apparently he had gone to the store to get something for us all to drink, despite me telling him earlier that there were still some bottles in the fridge. He didn’t even think to tell me that he was going out. He said he went to a nearby drugstore and got stuck in line behind an elderly woman who talked a lot. He didn’t notice my text or my call.
He signed K’s papers and we arranged for her next visit. It’s next weekend. She did suggest the weekend after that, but it’s our anniversary weekend so I said no! F was going to give her some drinks in the kitchen but the care manager said that she had to go and it was okay. She left and I jumped on F (in a nice, not too angry way!) What the heck was he thinking?
F and I decided to go out for lunch. I suggested the Indian restaurant because it is cheap and pretty good. He said okay, so I quickly changed my shirt and off we went.
We had a nice if big meal at the Indian restaurant. I had the chicken curry, F had the pork and we shared an order of pakora. I saw them in the menu and told F that my friend had made them for us sometimes. The restaurant’s ones were quite a bit different and not as good, but honestly they were okay.
I asked F what he wanted to do next. He was taking his car to the dealer later on. He said he wanted a nap, so we drove back to the house and took one! I had changed out of my clothes because the room was so hot.
We headed over to the car dealership and had the oil changed. We also told them about a recent problem that F’s key fob unlocks his door, but doesn’t unlock mine. Then, when I want to get into the car I have to make him unlock my door again. It’s a pain. I had suggested to him that he Google the problem, but he didn’t. I did and there are a couple of things it could be. Since it does work sometimes, I think it could be a loose connection but we’ll see if the experts can figure it out. We asked the guy, but he didn’t see the problem, until we got the car back and F could open his door and I couldn’t! I think they’ll lend him a car while they try to fix the problem, that’s in a couple of weeks.
When we left the dealership, we went across the street and went shopping. We first up went to the drugstore to pick up a couple of necessary things. I got myself a bottle of water and F got himself a soda. We sat in the car and drank for a minute.
F didn’t want to do the grocery shopping with me (Hurray!!!) so he gave me some money and I went in. I bought a lot of things that I think we needed and when I paid, it came to 24 yen more than F had given me. I paid the extra of course and went out to the car.
I gave F the receipt and told him there wasn’t any change. I told him I got his mother a bento for his dinner and he asked me if I got something for us. No, was the answer. That would have been even more expensive. He was quite annoyed in a way, but he hadn’t said anything before I went into the store. I would also have needed more money as bentos aren’t cheap.
We went back to the house and I put away the groceries. I headed upstairs afterwards. We relaxed upstairs for a bit and then we talked about going out. I suggested going to Gusto again as I was really looking forward to the drink bar.
F was okay although he threw a bit of a fit when I asked where he wanted to go. He told me that I hated everywhere that he would suggest. Not always true, but if it’s ramen he wanted, then yes.
We drove over to Gusto and went in. We both had the same thing with different sides. We had the spicy chicken. I had mine with a baguette, F had his with rice and we shared some fries. The fries were pretty good.
After dinner, we came back to the house. F set up the rice cooker for me for tomorrow and then joined me upstairs. He went to bed almost right away, I decided to watch some TV. I watched the last episode of Good Omens, the second season. I hope the rest of it shows up soon.
Since the time that I finished the show I have been working on my computer and getting my end of day things done. Tomorrow I have to polish my column and sending it in. I also have to cook dinner and do all the weird things I do every day.
Come back later if you like and read all about my day. Until tomorrow….
