January 4, 2008 - Friday

Clear and mostly sunny.

A pretty good day today. Fumihiko got up on time this morning and was a dear and made a pot of coffee for me. I actually got up before my alarms today. Yes, I was up before 8:30...I didn't believe it either.

I watched some news, and then the Japanese Prime Minister came on the telly. I saw a note that said they'd play English news at 10:30, so I had my shower and put in a load of laundry. I watched the news and then did something unusual for me. I ironed. I ironed the tablecloth that I used for Christmas Dinner. Yay me.

While laundry was being washed, I also vacuumed the apartment too. So, I ironed a tablecloth, did three loads of laundry, vacuumed the apartment and then did a bit of a tidy up in the kitchen, a room my husband has been using more than me lately!

I had a light lunch early on today. I discovered that if I take my daytime, non-drowsy cold medicine on an empty stomach, I fall asleep! I had my light lunch, but found that I was getting a little tired anyway, so I took a nap. I slept/dozed on the couch for about an hour.

I made my lunch lunch and watched Little Britain Abroad. I'd taped it the other night. It was funny, but very naughty in places! After eating, I washed up the dishes and then set off on my way to work. I did stop on the way to buy a drink at a vending machine, but really that was it. I rode my bike today too. Although there is snow in places, the roads are clear and it wasn't difficult.

At school, I put away the things I had bought yesterday, did a quick sweep of the floor, and put away the dishes. I checked my lesson as well. My student today was right on time, and remarkably well behaved. We had a good lesson and even finished a little early. I played Crazy 8's with him and he really liked it.

After class, I did a slight tidy up, and then some paperwork. Finally, I called Fumihiko and asked him to come and get me, which he did.

We came home and I cooked dinner. Tonight was chicken and veggie stir-fry. I just used Fish Sauce as seasoning, well, I added a little oregano to the chicken, but I don't think you could really taste it. Dinner was good, and we finished it all. Afterwards, Fumihiko did the dishes for me.

We spent a quiet evening in. No TV, no fights (yay!) and nice conversation. I served us the last of my mincemeat tarts with cream for our late dessert. Yum. I'll miss those.

And that was basically my day. It was quite good. Tomorrow... I have one class, but it should be fine. Fumihiko wants to take me back to the doctor, but since I blame his office for giving me this cold, I'm not sure I want to go back! However, my headaches are still quite nasty, so if there's time in the morning I just might go. Wish me luck!

Talk to you tomorrow night! Night night.
