Cold with more snow.
Today was okay. I got up early to watch the news, did so and then did a bit of computer stuff. I took my shower and after I dressed came back to my computer. I wanted to make a cd for our trip. It's my first one on this computer. I did it, and then I even printed out the list of songs for the case.
I kept an eye on the weather. At first, things looked fine, but gradually a few flakes of snow came down, and then a bit more. I ate my lunch early and by 3 pm I was ready to leave. I put my outdoors clothing on and then I walked to work. It wasn't a lot of fun. The snow was coming down and it was still cold out.
I got to my school, dumped my bags and grabbed my snow shovel. I headed out to my parking space. There was less snow there than yesterday, but there was more than I hoped there would be. Sigh. I got busy. I cleared it out, did a bit of work on the pathway back to the apartment and tried to clean up a bit of snow in the roadway. I was just about ready to go back in when the snow started up again. It was tiny little balls of snow that covered everything I'd just done. I vowed to come back after my lesson. Hopefully it would have stopped by then.
My student came and we had an okay lesson. Today wasn't bad actually. He has several "things" that he does though. One of them is he likes to take off his socks. I don't really understand it. I make my students wear slippers, but he tries to run around in bare feet. Still, he seems more comfortable like that and we make a few jokes about it, so I can handle it.
After he left with his mother I winterized myself again and went back to the parking space. Sure enough, there was more snow, but it wasn't snowing anymore. Yay. I made quick work of the space and then went back into my school. I got everything ready for the next couple of classes and then took a break. I read a bit of my Story of English book. It's weird. When I was in university I hated my class about English Language history, now I do a lot of reading about it.
My next two classes went well. The first of the students thanked me for clearing the parking space for her. It's nice to be thanked!
After my classes I had a bit of paperwork to do and the dishes too. I called Fumihiko and asked him to come and get me. He did and he took me to M's Dining for dinner tonight. We both had chicken and it was rather nice.
We came home and had a quiet evening in. I watched today's Cold Case and it was good, but sad. It usually is though.
And that was my way. I'll be away for a few days in Sendai from Saturday. I may blog on my blogger account by cell phone, or I may just make you wait until I come back before I tell you all about my trip. Don't miss me too much! Night.

I hated that class too. What was wrong with it? Could it have been the boring prof? It was just too hard for my course load. Because I was so excited about it. I read those books, too, and work Why Is The English Language Weird lectures into my teaching whenever I can.
Part of it was the Prof, although I didn't mind him for some of the other things I took. I think maybe now that we work with the language and have to explain where the words come from and why English is so wordy that we got an interest in English Language History finally!
