Sunny with a bit of rain at night.
Hey, big surprise! The cherry trees outside our apartment are starting to bloom. I thought it was too early, but Fumihiko says they're about 50 percent in bloom now. Wow.
I got up this morning and put on the TV. There was nothing on as usual. I took my shower, then came out and started on the list that I made for myself before bed last night. I printed out the lesson I prepared for my student last night, then I corrected input on iTunes, and then I started my soup. I had the TV on, and I was watching the news, when Fumihiko came home. Huh?
Fumihiko had worked until late last night, so he could take some time off today. Good for him! I kept working on my soup, while he changed and then he had to go out again. He needed to go to City Hall to get his hanko registered. He came back a couple of hours later.
I made my lunch and he made something for himself. I thought he'd eaten already...guess not. I did the dishes and then he drove me to work. That was a nice treat, except I like biking!
When I got to the school today I was quite busy. I vacuumed, dusted, cleaned the toilet...I was busy. I checked my set up for the day and even for tomorrow's class.
When my first class came, we had a good class. I'm trying to get them into the habit of writing their names. The oldest girl is fine, she has it now, but the younger one isn't sure yet. I realized about 30 minutes in that we weren't going to finish the lesson to the point I had planned, so I improvised a finale to the lesson. I'd found an old game board I'd made before, and we played with it. The game went very well! We enjoyed ourselves. The other class went quite well too. The student is doing well. She's quite good at chatting, so we chatted before getting into our lesson.
After classes I cleaned up, got out tomorrow's stuff, started the dishes and called my husband. He came and picked me up.
We had dinner soon after we came home. We had some of my lovely soup. It was good, although not as good as the soup I made last time. Then, we had chicken wings with blue cheese dressing. Yum. Later, Fumihiko made some gyoza. He didn't make-make them, he just fried them! They were good too. Fumihiko did the dishes which was nice.
After a bit, I got out some very very frozen blueberries from freezer and asked if he'd like some. He would, so we had frozen blueberries and milk. Yum.
While hubby had his bath, I got the plastic garbage ready for tomorrow. It's not my favourite thing to do, but I prefer doing it midnight to doing it at 3 am, which is when I usually end up getting it ready!
Anyway, that's about it for me. Tomorrow Fumihiko is supposed to cook dinner and I should have only one class, but I'll need a bit of prep for Saturday.
That's it for me. Night night!

Our cherry trees are almost done. The pinks ones are finished since they are more fragile and the recent rain and wind did them in. There are a few of the white ones left. I don't get all mushy about them like some Japanese do, but they really are pretty, aren't they? I kind of prefer the plum trees that bloom earlier, but they don't get any attention.
I like the Plum trees too.
I"m not a mushy about flowers kind of woman either. I like cherry blossoms, but why the big deal? The trees outside our apartment are quite ugly for 50 weeks of the year...pretty for 2. Don't see the sense really.
Still, hopefully our weather will be okay for Hanami. It's sad that you had so much rain and wind.
