April 15, 2008 - Tuesday

Sunny and warm.

Busy day mostly!

I had a hard time getting up this morning, but I did. I showered, drank lots of coffee and ate lunch early.

On my way to work I stopped and grabbed a sandwich. I'm glad I did. It was about 8 hours before I left the school which made it a long night for me.

Today's classes went well, except the last two classes were with the same person. Usually there'd be another person for the first hour, but her classmate couldn't come today. Still, we made it through the time!

After work I cleaned and set up for Thursday as fast as possible. Fumihiko was cooking tonight and I didn't want to make him wait. I called him and he came and got me.

In the kitchen, Fumihiko was cooking up a storm...literally! He made us tempura, tonkatsu and boiled daikon with miso sauce. It was all good. We also had some salad with that. That was my contribution! I wanted something that wasn't too greasy. I also made coffee and then ground more decafe for tomorrow night, by hand.

After we finished eating I told Fumihiko that I would clean up for him because I wanted him to take his bath soon. As soon as I looked at the kitchen I regretted it though. There were dishes everywhere. Sigh. I emptied the basin for dishes and threw out his water. The sink promptly backed up. I had to empty out the little net thingy in the drain, and put in a new filter. Then, I noticed the state of the dishcloth. I use disposable ones, and when Fumihiko gets his hands on them, they disintegrate in about 5 minutes. I got out a new one, and tossed the old one. Because there were so many dishes to do, and I had the potential to get a little cranky, I grabbed my iPod, put on a good playlist and went to work. It took ages, but the music helped, as did the satisfaction of getting things cleaned again. He still has to drain and clean the oil, but the rest of the kitchen looks okay. It took a while though.

The rest of the evening was spent quite quietly at my computer. I continued to listen to my iPod for a while, and then finally turned it off.

It was a pretty good day today. Tomorrow I'm off. I may go on a mission to the Post Office and S-Mall. Wish me luck!

Night.
