August 10, 2008 - Sunday

Warm and sunny. Cooler in the evening.

Today was quite a good day. I slept in late and then when I got up we went out for sushi to Kintaro Sushi. It was nice.

We ran a couple of errands for me in the afternoon, then came home. At home, we watched a bit of TV while Fumihiko got ready for the evening. After a while I was bored of all the sports on TV so I went to the bedroom and took a nap. It was quite a long one, and it just felt so good!

Around 6:15 we left our apartment on our bicycles to go to the Akagawa River area. We made good time, but stopped on the way to buy some drinks. We got to the fireworks site just on time. We found a seat, and Fumihiko went off to get us some yakitori.

The fireworks were great. We had good seats and the night was perfect for the fireworks. It wasn't too hot and there was a light wind. There were lots of beautiful fireworks set to music. They were gorgeous. My favourites were The Phantom of the Opera, Your Song, and the grand finale.

After the fireworks we had to come home. It took a long time as traffic was jammed up, but we still made great time. When we got home we decided to go to M's Dining for dinner.

They were quite busy tonight so we had to wait a few minutes to get in. While we were waiting I noticed a sign on the wall. I got Fumihiko to translate it for me, and when he did, he said that the restaurant was going to close at the end of the month. Oh no! It's one of my favourite places to eat. Their food is always great.

We came home and Fumihiko watched some TV, but then he went to bed. I plugged in the headphones and decided to watch a bit of Sex and the City. I've only ever watched one or two episodes before, tonight I've watched about 4 in a row. I sort of get the attraction now, but not sure that I'd be a big fan.

Anyway, that's it for me. Have a good night.
