November 7, 2008 - Friday

Rainy in the morning, clear at night.

An okay day. I didn't get up as early as I had the last couple of days, but that could be because I woke up twice in the middle of the night, and then again when Fumihiko left.

Anyway, I had a quiet day at home. I watched my British show, Ashes to Ashes and then some regular WOWOW TV. I went off to my school a little before 4.

My first lesson went well and we had an okay time. We were doing a song today, which is enjoyable for the student. Afterwards, we had a little time left over so he started drawing insects on the board. He wanted to know what they were, so I got my dictionary out and showed him some of the pictures. It made it much easier to know what he was asking about. It was also nice to see him really show an interest in something "English".

In my break time, I did some paperwork and got ready for my next class. My student cancelled again. Sigh. I had a little chat with her and I'm going to send her an email with a couple of ideas to hopefully make it easier for her to come to class.

I knew that Fumihiko was supposed to work late tonight, so I stayed at the school and finished reading my book. It was quite good, a little bit spooky...so I enjoyed it.

A bit after 8 I set off for home on my bike. It was a lovely evening. Crisp and cool, and no rain. I made good time, arrived at my apartment building, only to see my husband's car parked in the parking lot. He'd finished work earlier than I thought.

We went out for dinner to Jiro and I tried a new dish. It was a ham gratin with deep fried shrimp and a hamburger patty. It was okay. After dinner, Fumihiko and I went to check the clinic's hours for tomorrow. We're thinking about getting flu shots this year. Then, we bought a few groceries and came home. Then had a fight. Same old, same old.

Anyway, I'm not in the greatest condition here. My cold seems to be slipping into my chest, which means I'm coughing a lot, my scalp is itchy on and off, despite using something I got in Canada on it, and there's something else going on, but it's a bit too personal to blog about. So, I'm a bit of a mess.

Tomorrow I should have 2 classes, but I might go off and get my flu shot in the middle of it. Not sure yet. Depends if I'm speaking to my significant other by then or not!
