Sunny and almost warm.
Today didn't start that well, but ended fine, so whew!
In the morning when my alarm went off, Fumihiko was still in bed. I snoozed for a bit, then got up and watched TV. I watched the news. Didn't drink coffee cause no one had made it for me. I was still quite angry, and Fumihiko didn't seem to understand why. Anyway, I decided that if I wanted to have a good day, I'd have to get over myself. So I did. I'm not 100 per cent over the whole thing yet, but give me some credit eh?
Fumihiko wanted to go to his doctor's office in the afternoon and I wanted to do some shopping. What we did was have a quick and cheerful breakfast at home. Toast, miso soup and coffee. Then, we sent off a box of books to a friend. After that, we did the big drive out to the mall.
We had coffee at Mr. Donuts. I have 14 points to go before my points expire on the 21st! The woman at the store kept trying to get Fumihiko to use my points for a discount today and I was not having any of it! I need a schedulin darn it! If I can still get one! (Didn't I go through this whole rigamarole last year?)
Then, we split up to do Christmas shopping. I can't say what I bought as a certain husband occasionally reads this blog. But, I was happy with what I got. I was surprised that at one point I saw him trawling through the men's clothing department. He saw me and was going to come over and talk to me, but I shooed him away.
After a couple of hours we met up again. I was laden with bags, he didn't have any. Hmm. Not sure I like the sound of that! We came back to Tsuruoka and he dropped me off at the mall, then headed off to his doctor's office.
While I was in S-Mall, I got a few greeting cards. I noticed when I tried to send my nephew a card that my "kid friendly" card stock had mostly vanished, so I picked up one or two, and I realized that two of my friends are expecting either this month or next month, so I'd need cards for that too! I was tired after all the shopping and had a rest for a bit, but caught my second wind and did more. I checked out the cheese supply in the grocery store....no Feta. Sigh. My grocery store has a jar of it, but it's more than 800 yen. Yikes. For one little old Greek salad? Is it worth it? Probably.
Fumihiko found me, but he didn't have the introduction to the hospital in Fukushima. The doctor hadn't done it yet. Fumihiko didn't mind much, but I did! I really hope that the doctor gets moving on it.
We had dinner in the Tonkatsu shop. I was starving, so made Fumihiko order an appetizer too. The meal was nice and we both had seconds on miso soup and cabbage.
We bought a few groceries after that. Fumihiko has said that he will cook dinner tomorrow night. He's going to make cream stew again. I liked it last time, but I'll be late at work tomorrow night, so I hope Fumihiko does everything before I get home.
The evening passed quietly. I watched the Halle Berry/Bruce Willis movie Perfect Strangers on TV, then turned it off for the night. Oh, there was also a cooking programme on earlier about cooking Italian food. It looked so gorgeous, that I was practically drooling. I love cooking shows.
So, basically by the end of the evening we were getting on fine again.
Tomorrow I have lots of things to do. I have to write and mail a few more cards, wrap some of hubby's presents and go to work. Sounds like I could be busy. Maybe!
Night night.
