Cool, but no snow or rain again. (Is this really January?)
A pretty good day again. I got up on time and watched the news, drank coffee, same old thing. After that I finally made the bed and managed to cut/scrape/injure my pinkie while I was doing that, so I had to get a bandage for my finger. Who knew making the bed was so dangerous? Does this mean I don't have to do it tomorrow?
The rest of the day passed too quickly. I watched The Unit today, and then Cold Case. It was an episode today where it turned out not to be a murder and at the end of the show I was bawling my eyes out. And I've even seen it before. Sigh. When did I become this big softie that cries at happy endings?
I biked off to work, made a stop at the drugstore and then arrived at my school. I got to work and achieved a bit. I finished the prep for today, and also checked tomorrow's and Saturday's lessons. Yay me. My two classes were good today. My first had a quiz in it to test them on the first half of their textbook. The students did really well. My second, we talked about a lot of things, it was quite interesting.
Afterwards I cleaned up and then sent Fumihiko a photo of him snoozing on the couch last night. I'm so mean! He called back and then came to get me.
We had a really nice dinner at Grado. We both had local pork and chicken saute. Then, we got a few groceries for tomorrow, but will have to get more. Our supermarket didn't have a great selection of meat tonight. Sigh.
We came home and vegged. Fumihiko's going to have to take his computer into the shop as it's not working well. He may have got a virus or something. However, he did manage to tell me that a Japanese movie, Okuribito (Departures in English) was nominated for best Foreign Language Film. The extra cool thing is that it was filmed in Sakata, the next city down the road. I haven't seen it, but my husband did. He really liked it. (I was in Canada on holiday then.)
Anyway, that's it. I could talk about the other Academy Award nominations, but the sad thing is that except for Heath Ledger's nom for Best Supporting Actor, I haven't seen any of the performances. Sad, sad sad.
And it's good night from me! Night!
