Sunny but cool.
A mostly good day. This morning I got up and watched the news and drank coffee, a pretty normal day. I did go out in the early afternoon to make a payment at the post office. That done, I came home again. When I came home I started cooking in my crockpot. I cut up the veggies from the refrigerator, put the chicken breasts in and then poured slightly diluted cream of asparagus soup over it all. Not cordon bleu stuff, but, hey...cooking.
After lunch I went over to the school. I got there and immediately re-washed all the dishes that Fumihiko washed yesterday. He doesn't listen to me when I tell him how they should be done, and then he puts them away not properly dried. I was pretty angry at him yesterday but didn't want a fight, so just decided I'd rather do it my way when he's not around.
I checked my Friday class set up and then got ready for today's lesson. We had a good class, and when it was over my student left. I cleaned up again and then called Fumihiko. He picked me up and the comedy of errors began!
We went home. He had been at his mother's when I called. He had done some repair work on his house. At home, he changed into some casual clothes and I got ready to put out dinner. I set the table. We decided to start the meal with some pumpkin soup that Fumihiko bought yesterday. It's in a carton, like a milk carton. He read the instructions and it said we could microwave it. Well, in our horrid kitchen, there is only one plug in available, and it's right beside the microwave. In fact, I had to unplug the toaster oven to put the slow cooker on. The slow cooker was in front of the microwave. I heated up the soup, doing mine first, since I'm sitting further away from the microwave. After heating them both, Fumihiko pronounced the bowls of soup were too cold, so he re-heated mine. As he leaned over to put my bowl of soup in the oven, his shirt went into his bowl. When he pulled it out, he got soup all down his jeans. You'd think that would be enough, wouldn't you? He did it at least twice more. Then, of course, he wasn't too careful about opening the door of the microwave and very nearly knocked my precious slow cooker onto the floor. At one point, it was sitting with one leg on the bevelled edge of the table. Ahhh. While I was moderately worried about him, I was frantic about my slow cooker. I had to order it from the FBC and it took a couple of weeks to get here.
Still, despite the Laurel and Hardy moves, dinner was good. The pumpkin soup was only okay, and I wouldn't bother with it again, but the chicken was really nice.
We had a nice quiet evening with time for a cuddle along the way, so it really wasn't too bad at all.
That's it for me for tonight. Tomorrow will be my last post for the weekend, as I'm off to Niigata on Saturday night. This time it's business though, not just for fun.
Night!
