February 4, 2009 - Wednesday

Clear and sunny.

A good day today. I had a pleasant morning around the apartment, and in the afternoon decided to go out and get my hair cut if I could. I also needed to go to the bank to pay a bill. I did the banking first, and then went to my hair salon. My stylist was there and available, so I was able to get a nice cut today. Yay!

After my hair was finished I felt like a new woman. I decided to go to the mall to show off a little. I went to the hundred yen shop first, then came back to the card shops. I wanted to get something for my niece and nephew for Valentine's day. My first choice was closed today, and my second choice didn't have any Valentines, so I got a couple of cool postcards for them.

I had a cup of Royal Milk Tea in Doutors and a sandwich, then headed home. It wasn't quite dark yet, even though it was close to 5 pm.

Fumihiko came home a little before 6 and we got ready to go out. I put on a pair of nylons for the first time in a year? Maybe more. I promptly put my nail through them. The second pair I got out already had a small hole in them, so they went out, but the third pair was the charm.

We drove to the restaurant, our favourite, Bistro des Pointes and had a fabulous meal. There were 6 courses! We started with a little nama ham that the chef had made himself, ham that had aged for 2 years. Then, we had salad and fish carpaccio, kabocha soup, suzuki with saffron sauce (fish), then filet beef, and finally dessert and coffee. Dessert was eclair with strawberries and cream and a little ice cream on the side. Oh my goodness! I didn't think I could move afterwards, and yet none of it was heavy.

We came home via my school to set the heater for tomorrow and drop off a few things. At home we had a rather quiet evening. Fumihiko found 24 on so we watched it, but honestly, I've only ever seen bits and pieces so I don't really understand what poor old Kiefer is trying to do.

We had a quiet evening, we did watch Angelina Jolie on the Actor's Studio. I've seen it before, but as always am quite impressed with how interesting she is, and how she speaks her mind.

Fumihiko went to bed a while ago. I'm a bit late tonight, so I'm going to post this and get to sleep myself. Night night!
