May 10, 2009 - Sunday

Muggy and cloudy.

Today was a quiet but good day. I stayed up too late last night watching Sex and the City reruns. I had seen a few of the episodes before, but there were a couple that I hadn't and I thought were particularly funny. I was wearing the headphones, but I had to try not to laugh out loud much as hubby was sleeping.

Today I slept in quite late, but Fumihiko didn't seem too upset. Hurray. I did get up before 12 however. We had a lovely lunch at the Daiichi hotel. I had local pork sauteed with a mozzerella topping. It was good, but I didn't think the cheese added much to the pork. It came with lovely cold cream of broccoli soup and bread and coffee. Fumihiko had Indian style chicken curry and rice. He liked his too. After lunch I insisted that he buy his mother a present for Mother's day. He really didn't want to. Men! I told him if he didn't get her something _I_ would get blamed for it. He got her some sweet cakes from a local shop. They did look nice. Then, we went over to the pet shop to get his dog some food. After that, he dropped me off at home and he took the stuff to his house.

When he came home, we decided to watch a movie. Today was to be a resting and relaxing day. We watched The English Patient. I had forgotten just how wonderful and beautiful that film is. Fumihiko enjoyed it too. I wasn't sure if he'd like it, but he said that he did. I didn't watch from in front of my computer, I sat on the couch and did a whole lot of work on my clapochet.

We had dinner at New York, New York. We both had drink bar and salad bar, Fumihiko added on rice bar. We were told by the waitress that we had to wait until our main dish arrived before we went to the salad and rice bar. Huh? Okay, whatever. Food eaten, we just came home.

I asked that we watch another movie in the evening, one that I hadn't watched before. Fumihiko said it was okay with him so we watched Atonement. I had read the book last year and it was wonderful, and I got the dvd from my best friend for Christmas. It didn't have Japanese subtitles of course, but Fumihiko was game. It was a great film. I thought the double feature that we did today was rather interesting. Both were films set around the Second World War, both based on great literature and both had great casts and were terribly sad.

Fumihiko basically collapsed into bed at midnight and I've been messing around on my computer ever since. I do have to get to bed soon as I have to run a couple of errands tomorrow. Wish me luck with that! Gotta catch some zzzzz's! Night.
