I woke up before 7:30 this morning. I have no idea why or what happened to make this momentous thing happen, it just did. F had already left for work, so it wasn't him. I think I was just too hot and sweaty.
I got up, watched TV, drank coffee and when the news came on watched it too. Most of the news was about the memorial for Michael Jackson.
During the morning it was uncomfortably hot and humid in the apartment. I refused to turn on the air conditioner at 8 am and decided to suffer for a while...saving the polar bears, you know. However, around 9 or so it started to get quite windy, so it wasn't as bad after that. The air was moving which was nice.
I had plans for my day off, which were to box up Katie's present and then send it off from the post office. After that, I planned to go and get my hair cut. Didn't happen. First of all, I couldn't find a box. I made do by wrapping up the present in some paper and taping it well. While I did that, I watched 3 episodes of Corner Gas.
I was having a quick lunch when my phone rang. It was F. He phoned to say that he was going to try to take some time off so he could take me to the dentist. What a guy!
He phoned me back later that he was on his way, but sadly, the dentist was all booked up for today, so we couldn't go tonight. When he came in, I asked if we could go out for coffee, so we did that.
We went to Doutors in the Mall and had coffee or tea and a calzone sandwich. After that, I visited the 100 yen shop, then we left the mall. We bought gas, and then F wanted to go for a drive to the beach. I was already in the car and was enjoying myself, so it was fine by me. I dozed a bit on the way to Yunohama. It was getting dark, but there were lots of guys out in the water surfing. We parked the car and went out to have a look at the ocean. I took a few pictures with my camera-phone. I think considering the light and my inexperience with the camera turned out rather well.

If you click on the photo above, you can just see a surfer in one of the waves!

This one reminds me of a Turner painting.
We drove back to Tsuruoka and then F asked if I wanted to go to the Mikawa Mall. I didn't really have a reason to go there, but it was okay. We thought about having dinner there, but nothing caught our fancy so we headed back into the city.
We had a nice dinner at the Tonkatsu shop. We had two kinds of pork, and F got to have my rice of course.
We came home, and F went to bed almost right away. I watched Desperate Housewives and then turned off the TV. He's sleeping soundly now.
My teeth have been mostly better today. They didn't hurt at all until the evening and even now aren't that bad. However, there is good news on the horizon. I have an appointment to see the dentist on Saturday.
Well, that's it for me for tonight. I'll talk to you again tomorrow. Night!

Nice photo's Helen!
Glad to hear your teeth are a little bit better too.
At the post office do they sell boxes and parcels to send items in? I just wondered.
Thanks Kelly!
And yes, they do sell boxes at the post office and I have been known to take all my stuff down and pack it in there, but I didn't really want to do that this time! I'd have to take my own tape with me and maybe scissors too. I wasn't planning to come straight home afterwards so I'd have to carry them all afternoon.
I get quite a lot of odd looks from the old ladies that come to the post office when I pack the box at the PO. :-)
