Sunday - Warm and sunny.
An okay day! I got up very late today. It was the afternoon when I dragged myself out of bed. F had been very nice and had let me sleep late, even though he was up just as late as me last night. He gets up early on Sundays, I don’t!
After a bit of computer time, we went out for lunch. We went to the other keiten sushi shop in Tsuruoka. It was quite nice today and we ate a goodly amount of fish. I like going other places once in a while to see what else is out there.
After lunch, we went to the glasses shop to pick up our new glasses. As I expected, it took ages. The man had to go over the guarantee with us and we had to pick cases and all kinds of stuff. F put his on, I put mine in the case and took it back to the car.
As the sushi we had made me really thirsty, I suggested going to the mall to have some tea. We drove there, F parked, and took off his glasses. I peeled something off his nose. The soft plastic pad from the nosepiece had come off and was now loose. Egads! F immediately drove back to the glasses shop (stopping at a convenience store for some water for me) and they fixed it for him. Hopefully it’ll stay fixed!
We drove back to the mall and had our tea. It was nice and F liked the new type too. We picked up some bagels in the bakery on our way out of the mall.
F dropped me off at home and went over to visit his mum. She’d asked him to come over all weekend. I stayed home and tried out my new glasses. I’m not over the moon. While I need reading and close up glasses, these are ridiculous. I can see close up, I just can’t see anything clearly that is more than an arm’s length away. I was hoping to wear these for work, but I’ll have to keep my old glasses for work and have these for up close I suppose.
F came home fairly quickly and then we relaxed for a while. We decided to go out around 8 for dinner. He asked that we go to an udon restaurant so I said okay. We drove there and of course it was closed! My second choice was the Arabic restaurant in town, but when we go there, it was closed too. F then suggested “The Sweeney Todd Restaurant”. We drove there and it was open.
As usual, The Sweeney Todd Restaurant was empty apart from the cook and the waitress. It’s quite a nice restaurant, on the second floor, but we have never seen anyone else eating there. We’ve now been there three times and it is empty. It’s a little bit creepy from the outside and the first time we saw it was just after watching Sweeney Todd, so, for us, it’s the Sweeney Todd restaurant!
We had sauteed pork or beef in a set meal. It was rather nice and we left just before they closed for the evening. I told F that he mustn’t go there alone or I might not see him again.
We bought a few groceries at the grocery store, but I’ll have to go back tomorrow to get some vegetables. They didn’t have the assortment pack that I like for stir-fries.
We came home and watched 9 on WOWOW. It was a really cool little animated movie. It wasn’t a Disney story by any means. It was about a group of small creatures that tried to survive in a post apocalypse world. It was beautifully drawn and had a neat little story. I went over to the couch and did a bit of crochet. I’m now on the last row. Woot. I’ll have enough wool too, so I’m quite happy about that.
Afterwards, we watched a bit of other stuff on TV, before turning over to Veronica Mars. I really wish I’d been able to see more of the show. It is excellent.
And that’s it. My day. It wasn’t bad, but the next couple of weekends will be taken up with trips so I’ll have to get my relaxing done on weekdays. Got to go. Night!
