Sunday - Hot, sunny and quite humid
Well, it was daylight when the mister and I put ourselves to bed this morning, so as you can imagine, I slept quite late. F got up a bit before 9 he said. Silly man! Sleeping is much more fun.
Anyway, I finally dragged myself out of bed around noon. When I did, F decided to ask for another postcard from Postcrossing, so he wrote it up and I photographed it for him. It was after 2 when we went out and after we left the apartment I started to feel a bit sick. The food that he suggested really did nothing for me, so finally I suggested one of the soba restaurants that he doesn’t like a lot. He agreed and so we went to Nambayashkiri.
My stomach had decided not to have any fried food, so that left out all the tempura and the French fries that F tried to get me to order, so I ended up just having salad soba. It was perfect. Not greasy, just a bit of noodles with chicken, lettuce and a little bit of sesame. We also had some sausages which were nice too. F had the tempura on rice with soba on the side. It looked okay, but I’m honestly glad I skipped it.
We drove around this afternoon looking for postcards for F. Now that he’s into Postcrossing, he needs a selection of postcards that he can send. We went to a few places in the city, but Tsuruoka just isn’t that touristy of a place. There aren’t too many postcards of things in Tsuruoka. We did a lot of driving around, and did manage to pick him up a few. We also got some cute and charming ones at a souvenir shop and the hundred yen shop. We had a drink at Doutors while we were in the mall. Yay!
After a quick trip home to decide about dinner, we headed out. All the places F thought of for dinner were either full or closed! He’d even called one of the places before we headed out to see if there was parking. We got there, and the restaurant was full. I asked him if he’d made a reservation. He said he had, but he hadn’t left his name! That’s not a reservation!
We ended up (after a lot of driving around) at Simon, a French/Japanese restaurant for a lovely meal. I had fish and F had a glorified hamburger. It really was nice though.
After dinner we made a quick trip through the drugstore and then the grocery shop. F wasn’t feeling that well by this time, so it was rather important to get home fairly soon.
We had a quiet evening in. F did up another card with a lot less help from me, so I’ll go and mail them tomorrow. I did up a couple for myself too. I’m sending them to the US and to Russia. The Russian one will probably take ages. They usually take longer than two weeks to arrive.
And that was my day. It was actually quite great, except for the not feeling well parts. Hopefully we’ll both be feeling better by tomorrow too. Night!

I hope you feel better Helen.
I also felt bad yesterday (more about that later).
I like the sound of this postcard-ing business. Is there a website for it? I wouldn't mind to give it a try as well.
So far, so good! Hope you're feeling better too.
Sure, just check out http://www.postcrossing.com/
It's quite a lot of fun, the only thing to remember is that you don't get a postcard until one you send arrives at its destination.
