Hot and sunny, windy and a bit muggy. Oh, it’s Saturday too.
Good day today.
I got up a bit late this morning, but we didn’t have to rush today, so it was fine. I showered then spent time on my computer.
We left the apartment today around 12. We were going to go to the Sweeney Todd restaurant, but I begged off. It was so hot and sunny and that restaurant is all windows so I thought it would be too hot for me. We changed our minds and tried somewhere else, but it was really busy. Instead, we ended up at the Park’s spa/ farmer’s market restaurant. They have a buffet lunch there. Last time we had dinner and it wasn’t good, but today the lunch was nice. I rather enjoyed it.
After lunch we visited the farmers market area and looked around. The only semi interesting thing was a spaghetti squash but it was tiny and very overpriced. We didn’t bite.
We went to S-Mall next to take F’s watch in. Despite it just getting “fixed” it has broken down again. He also needed batteries for his secondary watch. It has two dials for travelling.
After a quick drink at Mr Donut, F dropped me off at my school and I got busy. I cooled down the school, set up for the day, grabbed a few books for my student to sample, and then did some reading. My student came today and it was the first time I’d seen her in a few weeks. She wasn’t ready for a new book yet, but will try for next week. We had a good lesson and she left on time.
When I finished my paperwork and general getting things ready for the first class next week, I read a bit more of my Empire magazine and then called my husband. He said he was just going to take a bath. I suggested he take a shower instead and that’s what he did. When he finished, he picked me up and we headed out to Mikawa’s shopping centre. We decided that an evening trip would be better than an afternoon one tomorrow. The mall is so busy in the daytime and much more pleasant at night!
F headed to the men’s department and I headed to the craft section. I’ve been pondering my next crochet project and thought I’d do a baby’s blanket. There’s always someone I know who is expecting and I haven’t done a baby blanket in years. They did have wool on sale, but they just didn’t have the right combo of colours. For the pattern I have in mind, I’d need a lot of colours. I almost bought some yarn to make another shawl, but then managed to talk myself out of it. On my crochet group, women have been talking about how big their stash is, and I just don’t have the room for the amount of wool they say they have!
We had dinner at the mall too, at the food court upstairs. I had bibinba, but F had raimen. He didn’t like his at all, but I thought mine was good. I told him when we were eating that I order the speciality, so I’m happy, he ordered the “season special” which they aren’t famous for, so it isn’t that great.
After dinner, we came home and had a fairly quiet evening. F keeps watching sports these days…I asked him about the recent meet that’s on all the time. He can’t remember what it is called, and I’ve never heard of it, so I don’t think it’s very important! I only pay (grudging) attention to the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games anyway, so perhaps I’m not the best person to ask!
We watched Top Gear and then Gossip Girl. The latter was a bit meh, but I’ve not seen it before. I heard it was good. I’m still up as I have to set the TV & VCR for tomorrow, plus hopefully catch my Brit comedy tonight. Basically that’s about it for me.
Got to go. Night!
