Sunday - Cloudy and then rainy

A good day. I went to bed before F last night. Unbelievable, but true. I turned off my computer around 5 am, he stayed up to watch his silly martial arts stuff. He said he went to bed around 10 am, so he only got a couple of hours of sleep. I got up around 12 and he was still in bed.

We had lunch over at the mall in Mikawa. It was a Japanese place and I had some grilled salmon on rice with mayonnaise. It was good. I also had some tempura with it. It was nice. We did a little shopping for Christmas presents after our meal. We got a couple of small things. F also got me a cushion for the car.

We went to see Rango, the animated movie with Johnny Depp doing one of the voices. It was rather fun. Johnny Depp was good and so were the other people doing the voices. I was surprised to find out that Isla Fisher did one of the voices.

After the movie we went back to the shopping. We’d put a couple of things on the back burner to go back and get. I looked at the label on one thing and reconsidered. It was a winter sweater and it was dry clean only. It would be going to a teenager and I don’t think she’d be able to dry clean it. The other one was fine though and we picked it up. Yay!

We went back to the car, and as F had already put my cushion on the seat, I tried to sit on it. It was a couple of inches higher than usual, so I banged my head on the car frame…twice. I buckled in and it was fine. We’re hoping that this cushion will help stop me getting sciatica again. I have to be really careful on road trips and we have one coming up soon.

Back in Tsuruoka, we drove around looking for a yakitori shop, but didn’t find an open one, so I suggested going to Grado. We went home, grabbed the newspapers and then went to the restaurant. We had a nice meal and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

After dinner we bought a few groceries and then came home. We had a quiet evening. F went to bed a lot earlier than he has been lately, and I’m still up. Sigh. I wrote a postcard for postcrossing and I’ll try to send it tomorrow. That’s about it for me. I have to run. Night.
