An good day. I went to bed terribly late last night after watching some horribly overdone 80’s pop performances on TV. The clothes! The hair! I couldn’t tear myself away for ages. I slept very late today, but F was up as usual and apparently cleaned up a bunch of his stuff. YAY!
When I got up, I quickly checked the computer stuff I need to do and then we got dressed…okay I got dressed, and we went out. We had lunch at McDonalds. It was okay. We both tried the new Beverly Hills burger. It was more messy and mushy than delicious. We both had salads instead of fries and either iced tea or hot coffee to drink. We started out on our way.
There was a new highway built near Tsuruoka. Eventually it will go all the way to Niigata but right now it doesn’t. F wanted to drive it and see how it was. It was nice. We got to Atsumi Onsen in about 18 minutes which was fast. There was one tunnel along the way that was 6 kilometres long. It was strange to be underground for that long. When we arrive in Atsumi, we stopped at a rest stop on the coast and I took some pictures. It was cold and very windy. The wind was biting cold.

It was dinner time next and we plotted about where to go. We decided to go over to Sakata since we were halfway there and to go to the Indian restaurant there. We went to Sita and we were the only customers there. We did have a good meal. We had honey naan though and that was horrible. Much too sweet for me. Bleck. F liked it, but with curry it wasn’t a good thing. We had some tandori chicken, shish kebab, rice, naan, and shared two kinds of curry. It was a combo meal and came with a drink so we chose Masala tea. It was nice, but they didn’t strain it, so the spices kept getting in our mouth. Didn’t like that so much, but the tea was good.
We came back to Tsuruoka on part of the new road, except F got confused and turned at the wrong place. We made it back safely however, and we went to the grocery store. I’m going to cook tomorrow night…we’ll be having salmon. At least that is the plan at the moment.
We had a fairly quiet night in. We watched a movie on the free Fox channel, then had an earthquake at a little after 11. As usual, F didn’t notice!
He went to bed a while ago and I should try and go fairly soon. I do want to get up earlier tomorrow than I did today. Hopefully I’ll be able to go out and do something on my own two wheels. Catch you later? Night.
