Sunday - Snowy, cold and windy.  Brrr.

A nice day.

I got up at the time I set my alarm for today. Of course it was late, but it was Sunday. I did wake up a bit earlier when F got up.  He was going to a wedding so he got up, had breakfast and then got dressed up.  I probably should have given him the once over before he left though.

When I got up it was quiet in our little apartment.  I watched a bit of Martha Stewart…she’s annoying but the show was in English.  I watched a bit more TV, had some toast, did laundry, wrote some Christmas cards…in short, had a really productive day with my alone time.  In fact, when F called to say the wing-ding was over, I was a little sad!

He came home and I was a little surprised to note that the back placket in his jacket was still closed.  The thread didn’t show from the outside, but it was still there.  I took it off, and discovered some white thread hanging on the back of his pants.  It was holding a plastic bag full of spare material in his pocket.  That thread was showing.  Dear dear.  I had suggested to F that he check all his clothes before this morning, but he didn’t listen to me.  Sigh.

He came bearing roses for me from the wedding hall, plus gifts.  He got some rice, some pork , some guest towels (white so I’ll never use them!) and a catalogue to pick another present.  Yay.  Those are fun.  F told me I could pick the present.

After he took a nap for a while, he got up and we went to Grado for dinner.  We had to walk as F had some alcohol at the wedding today. It was cold and the wind was icy out there.  We have about 5 to 10 cm of snow in places. Yuck.
Grado was great tonight.  The chef was there and he gave F his “gift” from his birthday.  F had been quite upset that he didn’t get anything as he was supposed to have.  He got a discount coupon for a visit, so that was a nice thing.  We had a nice dinner.  I had the Grado set, so I had meat and fish, with the usual soup, appetisers and bread, plus dessert and tea, F had pork curry and a beer.  His looked really good, but mine was excellent.  So delicious.

After dinner we walked home again.  We live fairly close to the restaurant so it didn’t take long.  I was a little relieved that I didn’t cough much.  I’ve been wondering how colder weather will affect me.

In the evening I did a couple of postcrossing cards and then quite late on, I made muffins from a mix.  It was a Japanese mix and it was my first time with this mix.  The package said it would make 6 very small muffins, but since I only had medium or large muffin cups, it made 4 smallish muffins!  I had one for quality control and it was quite nice.  A little sweeter than I would usually expect for a plain muffin.

And that’s about it.  I had a really enjoyable day with enough home time and alone time and sleeping in to feel like a day off.  I rarely get that!

Tomorrow, I’m not sure.  The weather is awful, so I may stay home, but I should run to the post office to mail what I hope is the last of my cards for Christmas.  Next up, New Year Cards and Christmas cards for my students.  Wish me luck!  Night.
