Tuesday - Snowy in the morning, sunny and warm later on

An okay day!

I stayed in bed rather late today, on purpose. Yay me.  I got up finally, showered and watched a bit of TV.  F invited me for lunch again, but I refused today. I had to go to work later on, and lunch seems to suck a huge amount of time out of my day.

I had a nice lunch today. I had leftover stirfry, and a small chicken breast sliced on toast. Yum.  Then, I washed the dishes and left for work.  I made good time but stopped a couple of times on the way.

I first went to the bank machines to deposit, withdraw and update my passbook.  The depositing was fine, but the withdrawal became a little tricky.  Japan has a different system of counting than North American does.  In Japan, a 10,000 yen note is a bit like a hundred dollar bill and people use mostly 10,000, 5000, or 1000 yen notes.  I wanted to withdraw some money in case I had to buy a new computer this weekend.  F and I discussed how much you could withdraw at one time and we decided that the total might be 100,000 yen at a time.  So, I blithely walk up to the ATM and ask it for what I thought was 100,000 yen, only to be told that it wouldn't let me have that.  So, I changed my request to 50,000 yen.  The machine started whirring away and presented me with a huge wad of bills.  It was at least half an inch thick.  Oh dear heavens!  I had just withdrawn 500,000 yen, half a million yen.  ACK.  I put a bunch of it back in my account and kept the rest. I should probably stuff it down my bra to make sure that it stays safe, but honestly, I don't need that much "extra padding" up there!

Also on the way to work, I stopped off at the drugstore, did a little shopping there.  Nope, not with the computer money!

Went to my school, set up.  Heck I even vacuumed in there today.  Yay me.  5 pm came but my student didn't.  Sigh.  At ten after I called her, but there was no reply.  I never did hear from her, which is rather unusual, so I hope nothing is wrong.

F picked me up at 7 and we had a nice dinner in Jiro.  We haven't been there in a while, so it was a nice treat for me.  I had my usual, pork saute in garlic oil.  Yum.  No vampires will bother me tonight.

We came home and relaxed for a bit. I did some crochet and some checking on my groups, then F went out for milk and brought himself a bunch of yucky Japanese food for himself.  And oranges.  Bleck.

I watched some TV and looked up my computer's problem on the net. I thought I found a fix for it, but it didn't work.  Sigh.  I'm not really sure what will happen this weekend.  I miss my computer.  F's computer is cool and all, but it isn't mine and I do not know where things are automatically yet.

Tomorrow F offered to run me to my school at lunch so I can preheat it for Thursday, and we might have lunch together too.  After that, it depends on the weather for what I do.  Talk to you later eh!  Night.
