Tuesday - Hot and Sunny, Thundery now
A good day.
Woke up early today, around 6 am for the first time. I think I heard F’s mother banging around downstairs. I woke up the next time when F was getting ready for work in our room. I was a tad miffed, so I turned off my alarms and ended up sleeping later than I meant to. I did eventually get up and watch the news before doing The Blacklist thing.
I had a quiet morning more or less. I did a bit of laundry and a lot of sweating in my room. It was hot. It hit 30 degrees in our room quite quickly. F called around 12 and asked me to make some toast for him, which I did. He’d come by early on with more of that expensive bread.
In the afternoon I relaxed and also watched a pretty good British Zombie-type movie called The Girl With All the Gifts. It had Gemma Arterton, Glenn Close and Paddy Considine in it. The young girl of the title was very good too, a young actress called Sennia Nanua. I really liked this film.
When F came back to the house we had a bit of an argument about food again. He is on a restricted diet at the moment as he’s having tests done tomorrow. However, I am not! He wanted to have tofu and udon, I didn’t. He also wanted fish. I didn’t. We agreed to go to the grocery store and get what we wanted. I got some chicken, he bought tons of udon and some fish. I told him I’d have tofu after all, but he wasn’t going to serve it. Then, I asked if I could have a bit of udon. He said yes. I stuck firm on the fish though.
We got back to the house and he turned into a cooking fool. Now, he’d bought his mother a bento too, AND made hot udon and cold udon. Bleck. I barely wanted any udon at all, no way I wanted to eat two bowls of the stuff. I stayed in the kitchen a couple of minutes longer to get out glasses and drinks for us…I heard them both slurping away in the living room. They couldn’t even wait for me to start? K I understand, but F? I was hurt. I went to the living room, ate the hot udon and part of the cold. I gave the rest to F, and so did K. I don’t know who he thinks he’s feeding, but TWO kinds of udon at once? What is that about?
After dinner F washed the dishes and I dried and put them away. It took ages as F had used every kind of dish that we have (a slight exaggeration, but not by much.) Then he announced that he’d like to go to the onsen tonight. He didn’t ask if I wanted to go with him, I had to ask if it was okay.
I changed and we drove out to the onsen. I sat in the lobby with an iced drink and updated my phone and then did some crochet. I finished another square and then started the last rows on another. F came out by then and he bought us each a drink. We left the spa and then drove back into the city.
F asked if I’d like to go to a drugstore to pick up a few things and I said yes. We went to a different place than usual, bought some garbage bags and some snacks. F got some drinks too.
We came back to the house. I took a shower and then watched Suits and finished the last of the grey squares. Yay. I’ve been doing some thinking about the designs of the other squares and I think I’ll change things up a little. F said that it didn’t matter if I had to get more yarn, so that made things easier. Yay for that.
And that’s about it. I should get to bed soon. F is already quite asleep. He’s got a bit of a busy, possible stressful day tomorrow, so I should be well rested for it. Come back later if you choose and find out how things go. Until tomorrow….
