Saturday - Cloudy and rainy

A good day.

F and I slept in a little bit today, but he got up.  I did get up soon after.  It was a bit of a confusing morning. I wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. Did have a weird thing happen.  F was upstairs with me when he smelled something yucky and possibly burning. He ran downstairs and it turned out that K had put some milk on the stove and forgotten about it. It had evaporated and the pan burned.  The house smelt horrible for hours. After he cleaned it up, he decided to go out and get a bento for his mother, then we went out for lunch.

We went to the Indian restaurant in Tsuruoka and had a yummy lunch. It was nice and we were the only customers in the restaurant.
F had Chicken Sazani and I had Paneer Makhani curry.

F channelling Munch (or Scream, but I don't think he's seen it!)

After our meal, we talked about what to do and I suggested going out to Mikawa to do a little shopping for my sister’s birthday present.  We drove out there after stopping off at the house for F’s phone.

The mall wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be, but that could be because we didn’t go into the mall proper.  We just stayed in the department store area. I looked for something for my sister, and found her a nice shirt and added on a piece of jewellery to match.  I got another pair of culottes too.  Yay.

F and I had a drink at Mr Donuts and then decided to check out the grocery store for food for K.  The plan originally was for us to all get bentos and eat together.  F got one for himself, one for his mother, and I got a salad and some roasted chicken.  We drove back to Tsuruoka and at the house F announced that he wasn’t going to eat. I had said on the trip that it was a good thing for K not to eat alone so much, but he suggested that I go and eat with her.  No thanks. I don’t mind doing it as family time, but since we have no common language, I’d really rather not.

We both came upstairs and F snoozed for a while. He wasn’t feeling well and had said that he might skip the movie. He did say that he’d drive me to it though.

The movie was at 8:30 and time got to 7:30.  He woke up and suggested going to the new coffee shop…but it closed at 8 pm.  I didn’t think we’d make it, but he wanted to try.  We got there just behind another couple. They were told that the last order was 7:30 so of course we had missed it tonight.  We turned and left.

We went to a convenience store near the cinema and each got a little something to eat.  Then we went in and bought our tickets to see Lady Bird.  We both really liked it, I laughed a lot at it.  She was such a drama queen, but I can see quite a bit of myself in her.

We came back to the house after the movie and relaxed a bit.  F went to bed fairly soon.  We have to be up early tomorrow morning. F is getting the car serviced and since the garage is next to a restaurant, we’ve decided to have breakfast out. Yay us. I think it’ll just be the two of us, although I’m not sure he’ll stick to that.

And that was my day. It was quite good really.  I’ve got a bit of a runny nose at the moment though and F isn’t feeling well. There’s a typhoon on the way and it plays havoc with his back.

Come back later if you will and see how things go. Until tomorrow….
