Thursday - Sunny and warmish

A good day.

I went to bed late last night, so when my alarm went off this morning it rather surprised me. F was still here but was just out the door.  

I went downstairs but came up to watch the news. I had a hard time staying awake for it. NHK has shuffled all the news broadcasts in the hour, so it is a bit hard to know when my news will come on. 

I went down for breakfast at 10 and also did a bit of laundry. I grabbed my brekkie and came back upstairs to eat. I did a couple of loads of laundry today and hung it up in my room.  

I did watch a bit of TV, but I also got stuck in on my column. I’ve now finished the good films. I have to discuss a few not very good ones, but I don’t think I saw any films this year that I hated!  A bit boring, but true!

When F came back to the house tonight, I suggested going for bento.  The bento shop is in the same area as the gas station (needed kerosene), and the Gyomu Supa so that made things convenient.  We got the kerosene first, then went to buy a few things at Gyomu. I got more Mango Chutney, some frozen hamburgers, some frozen rice dishes and some ice cream for the freezer.

We picked up the bento and came back to the house. F did the hard work of bringing in the kerosene, while I did the work of putting the food on the table. It didn’t take long and we were sitting down to eat. F had said that he wanted to go to the onsen tonight so as soon as I finished eating, I took my dishes and trays to the kitchen. I took everyone else’s too.  I washed and dried the actual dishes and disposed of the trays.  I went upstairs to wait for F, but after 30 minutes he still hadn’t come for me.

I went downstairs in time to see him turn out the living room lights. He’d been watching TV!  We got ready to go and were driving towards the onsen, but still in Tsuruoka proper when F asked if it was okay if we didn’t go after all. He wasn’t feeling great and didn’t want to go. Since I was only going for the wifi, I didn’t mind. We went over to Komeda Coffee instead and had a cup of decaf each.  I updated my apps, surfed the net a little and just was happy not to be in the house.  

We did go over to MaxValu and picked up a few things for K’s lunch tomorrow and some snacks for us as well.  

We came back to the house and had a quiet evening in. I watched Instinct which is a show that I’m not really sure about. I like the characters, but I think they are in the wrong show or something. Maybe it is too Elementary-ish?

That’s really about all for me for today. Tomorrow I will finish my column and get it sent off, then I can enjoy the rest of the month! Come back later and see if I do it. Until tomorrow….
