Sunday - Warm and sunny

We had a long and lazy morning today. F did get up and went downstairs for a bit, but I was asleep. He came back up and we both snoozed for a while. I got up a bit after 11 and mostly stayed up while F snoozed on. I didn’t get mad at him because he hardly ever sleeps in.

We left the house just after 2 pm I think. I was wearing my new culottes and had quite specific needs about where we would eat! We went to Kintaro Sushi. I wasn’t too keen on having sushi for two lunches in a row, but we were too late for many of the other places I like. It was good at least.

We went to the craft shop after lunch and I bought some more Sashiko thread and also a hat.  I’m getting quite a collection of hats. Yay me.

Next up we went to Starbucks and spent so long there that we bought second drinks! My first was surprisingly good. I had a cold brewed coffee with lime. It was very refreshing and quite summery. My second was a frappucino. Sigh.

We left the store after 6 and I suggested either taking K out for dinner with us, or us going to buy bentos again. F chose option A so we went back to the house and picked K up. We drove out to Kushibiki to the restaurant we like there, but it was full!  F didn’t want to wait, so we went somewhere else. We drove for a while, had no luck with Siri’s suggestions, and then settled on a restaurant/bar sort of place. We had a pretty decent Japanese meal there. F and I had the same thing, katsu-ju while K had ramen.  Our dish was just katsudon but in a box instead of a donburi. I liked it, F didn’t really.

We went to the grocery store after dinner. I had a lot of things to buy, but K was pushing the cart and she was always miles ahead of me. I ended up carrying about three things I wanted to buy before I was able to put them in the basket. She’s very much on her own time, doesn’t think of other people at all. 

We came back to the house and put away the groceries. F asked me if I wanted to go out again. I said I didn’t have to.  He suggested going to the Internet Cafe. I was okay with it, but on the way suggested that we leave a little early so we could get things at the house afterwards.  We got to the place, but there was only one chair available so F decided not to go there after all. He drove us back to the house, grabbed his towels and drove us out to the onsen. It wasn’t what I wanted really, but it was okay. I sat in the quiet lobby and surfed the net again, and also read a little of my book. I wish I’d done more reading honestly. 

We left right at 10 pm and drove back to Tsuruoka. F wanted to pick up something to drink at the convenience store, so we did and then came back to the house.

I ate my ice cream (from the convenience store) and then did up the kitchen garbage for tomorrow.  It took a while as I gave some things a bit of a scrub.  I came back upstairs and watched The Mentalist and then turned off the TV.

Tomorrow I have to try and set up my printer. I have no idea if I’m going to be able to do it, but I’ll give it a try.  Wish me luck with that! I also have to cook dinner, so I’m really looking forward to that. Snort.  Until tomorrow….
