Tuesday - Sunny and hot
Last night I hadn’t quite decided which bus to take to Sakata, but this morning I decided to go for the early one. I think it was a good choice. I got up, dressed and then said goodbye to K. I walked to the bus stop and since I had given myself enough time today, didn’t have a panic and didn’t come close to missing the bus. In fact, I had a bit of a conversation with an older lady waiting at the bus stop.
I rode the bus all the way into the middle of Sakata and got off outside City Hall. From there I walked to the port area and visited the Immigration Office. I thought it might be complicated and would take a long time, but in all honesty, I doubt it took more than 10 minutes. In fact, at the end I asked the guy if I was done! I expected more.
I walked back to downtown Sakata and thought about lunch. I had skipped breakfast today, so needed a good lunch. I explored the big department store and found an Indian Restaurant at the top. I had lunch there. It was quite nice and I enjoyed myself.
After lunch, I checked out the department store and bought a few things here and there. I got more postcards at the bookstore and I picked up some stuff at the hundred yen shop. I even looked in at the craft shop and saw some interesting sashiko projects. Maybe in the future.
I decided to catch the 1:46 bus to Mikawa Mall so went out to wait for the bus. The bus stop was in the full sunshine, so I waited in the shade of a tree nearby. It was great as I got a nice breeze too.
In Aeon Mikawa I hacked around a bit. I had a drink at one place, then looked around for some craft stuff, but didn’t buy any. I also looked at shoes (nope) but found a couple of nice t-shirt kind of things for myself. I was quite surprised by how much I liked them. Oh, and I also got socks.
It was getting later in the day by now so I went to Doutor and had a decaf iced coffee. I was just sitting down with it when F called to say he was finished work. He joined me a few minutes later and he got a drink too.
We decided to have dinner in the mall but didn’t want the same stuff. I had pasta, he had ramen at the ramen shop. I was done first for a change.
We spent a lot of time in the hardware shop next to the mall but didn’t buy anything. Typical!
We drove back to Tsuruoka, bought something for K’s dinner and my lunch tomorrow then came back to the house. K got up when she heard/saw us and F gave her the bento.
We had a quiet evening in. I caught up with my TV shows from this morning and even had a little chat with F before he went to bed.
It was a really nice day! The best thing is having my card be valid again
That’s it for me. I’m so tired I am falling asleep as I type. Come back later tomorrow and see what happens. Until tomorrow….
