Sunday - Cloudy with a bit of rain

We slept in this morning. F had told me that he’d get up early and take his mother to the onsen, but it wasn’t to be. He didn’t feel well in the morning and stayed in bed.  I ended up getting up around 10:30, I stayed up. 

Somewhere around 1 F did get up and decided to take his mother out to lunch with me along for the ride. He suggested Gusto, which surprised me as he hates Gusto!  It was fine. K had her usual grilled saba (mackerel), I had a burger and chicken, and F had katsudon that he didn’t like. We all shared a plate of fries so that was fun. We had drink bar coupons so some things were cheap. 

We brought K back to the house and we came in too. F and I worked on his computer a bit, we’d done some in the morning too. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get it fully functional yet. 

In the evening, F decided to take his mother to the onsen and that we should all eat there. I didn’t mind as I like the onsen’s restaurant and I can sit and read in the lobby. However, his mother said she didn’t want to eat anything. Sigh. We still went to the onsen, they took their baths and I sat in the lobby and tried to read a bit of my book.  As I was doing that, I saw an ex-student out of the corner of my eye. She was coming towards me. We chatted for a bit. I’d taught her at my school, but when I closed the school she had just started working and found it hard to come to class. She was at the onsen with her father.

Just after she left me, F came out and then K did too. I didn’t get much reading time after all. Sigh.

We brought K back to the house and F saw her inside and safely getting ready for bed. 

We tried to go to a nearby restaurant, but it was getting late. By the time we found it, it had closed. We drove around looking for other places, but after 8:30 on Sunday night is a little difficult. I suggested a not good place, but on the way, I remembered a better place, Sashimi-ya, and suggested it. That’s where we ended up. It was quite nice. The fish is good quality and the atmosphere is decent too. No smoking either. Yay.

We made a quick trip to the nearby drugstore afterwards and then went to the grocery store. I bought a few things for dinner tomorrow night.  The original plan was to have pork “chops” and baked potatoes, but I’m thinking that it might be guacamole and tortilla chips instead!  I’ll see how ripe the avocados are tomorrow.

We came back to the house, I took a shower and came upstairs and used my computer. F is using his computer, but it isn’t perfect yet. We need to register his computer so that his iPhone and his computer can talk to each other. At least that’s the plan.
