Tuesday - Cooler, rainy, cloudy
I went to bed fairly early (for me) last night, around 2 am. I did, however, wake up around 4 and had to make a trip downstairs. When I came back, F asked me if I was just going to bed now! I think he believed me when I said no.
I got up this morning and had a relaxing time of it for a bit. I made the bed and sorted out some of my laundry too. I wanted to do a little today. It was the turn of towels!
Around 11:45 I was going to go downstairs with my dishes to start lunch prep, but I heard K go into the kitchen. I realized she was probably going to have her lunch soon, so I came back to the room. When I tried again she was in the living room as usual.
I spent the next while making soup. I washed and prepped the veggies, made some consommé for a base and just generally got the soup ready. It was in my slow cooker, so I turned it to high and left it to do its thing.
I took my lunch upstairs and ate. I watched a little bit of TV, the finale of Major Crimes. I loved that show. I think the ending was just about perfect. I’ll miss the characters in the show.
The soup’s aroma spread all through the house. I could even smell it up here and it was nice. I hoped that it would be as good as it smelled.
F called around 6 pm to say he was on his way. I went downstairs and started to get the rest of the things for dinner ready. I sliced some bread, put salad on plates, and made some spicy cucumber pickles. F arrived in the midst of this, and I sent him off to change his clothes.
I set the table in bunches when I had time. We had a nice meal. We had my chicken vegetable soup with some bread (and butter if wanted), salad and the aforementioned spicy cucumber. I had dressed 3 cucumbers and they all disappeared! K loves her cucumbers.
F washed the dishes and I dried them tonight. Yay. He wanted to go to the onsen, so when I had finished putting things away I went upstairs and got changed. A little while later we left the house.
We drove to F’s favourite onsen and I was lucky enough to get a chair to myself. I sat and did a bit of crochet and also listened to a podcast that I started a few weeks ago. It was about movies so I was happy.
F came out of the bath and we sat together. He wanted to go for coffee tonight, so we left before 10 pm and drove to Starbucks. Tonight we both had frappuccinos, but different ones. F had his usual dark chocolate mocha and I tried the mango tea frap. Mine was nice and I don’t think it had caffeine. I should check of course, but it felt more fruity than anything else.
We hit up the grocery store for a few lunch things and junk food. Then, we came back to the house. I had a shower soon after arriving, I think F had a snack or something.
Things are winding down now. F should be sleeping, but isn’t. I should be heading to bed soon, but am blogging instead.
Tomorrow I’m not sure what I’m going to get up to. I hope it’ll be a good day, so come back later and find out how things go. Until tomorrow….
