Friday - Sunny and warmish

I went to sleep fairly early last night. I turned off the TV and went to bed around 11 pm.  I did wake up around 4, but soon went back to sleep for another 3 hours.  I turned off my phone overnight, which probably had a lot to do with my good sleep!

This morning I got up and had breakfast.  I showered and got ready to meet my friend.  We drove into the city and went to a restaurant that I had just received a gift card for.  We had a lovely meal, I had fish tacos, she had a veggie burger and we shared an order of yam fries.  Unfortunately, my gift card didn't work and my friend ended up paying for lunch.  Yikes.  I had the money for it, I just was so surprised that I didn't think of it at the moment it happened.

After lunch we went to AMA to see if they had any travel packages available for the time that I'm in Canada. They did. The upshot is that we're going to Vegas, baby!  Early in January, we'll fly down and have a few days of fun.

When we were finished there, we went to Starbucks for a quick coffee that we had to take out as there were no seats available.  We then went to Walmart for a few necessities for me. Unfortunately, since Sears and Zellers closed, there aren't too many stores left where I can get cheaper things that I need! I picked some undies up, and also got next year's Christmas Cards too!Yay me.

My friend drove me back to my sister's house. It was empty, but a little while later my brother in law came back. He took care of a house repair and I vegged.  When my sister and her son came back, she started preparing dinner. It was very casual tonight, just crackers, cheese and garlic sausage. Yum.  I did help a bit with the prep, so good for me.

We settled in a little later and watched Mortal Engines.  People seemed to like it a lot. Apparently, no one really liked last night's movie, Ad Astra. I preferred it personally, but really I like both films.  After the film, we all went our separate ways. My nephew was sweet enough to wait until I was downstairs until he turned off the lights.

On my schedule for tomorrow I'm planning to take my nephew out for lunch tomorrow. There's a Vietnamese restaurant within walking distance, although my sister hinted that she'd take us there if we ask nicely! He has hockey practice later on, so I'm happy I'll get to spend a little time with him.

So that's it for me for today.  My friend and I were walking around Edmonton without our jackets today. I'm not sure if it because we're crazy or because it was a little warm.  Either way, it was nice!

Oh, I told my brother in law and my sister about the card from the restaurant and they'll look into it.  The waitress said that it could be from a bad batch of cards, or it might not have been set up properly, so I hope that we'll find out what happened.

That's it for me for tonight.  Come back tomorrow for more info about my trip home!  Until tomorrow....
