Tuesday - Snowy and rainy and cold

I had a very quiet day again today.  I got up and watched the news and then I watched my morning shows and drank lots of tea.

I repacked parts of my suitcase and tried to sort out my backpack too. I can’t finalize the contents until just before I leave.

I started a new crochet project to take with me. I’m working on a new shawl using some of the scraps I have of other projects. I’m only on row 15 or so, but it looks interesting!

I also had to write to a woman in my group and tell her that I am not interested in planning something and she should back off. For quite a few weeks she’s been hinting and coming right out and suggesting that I plan a large convention for the group. I’ve been ignoring her, but today I just told her as politely as I could make myself be to stop and that I have no interest in it. She said she understood, I really hope so.

When F called tonight I went downstairs and started preparing for dinner. Dinner was very simple tonight. It was retort curry (curry in a foil packet), rice and salad. I had to boil the curry packets in water, so no big deal really. The curry expired yesterday, so I thought we’d better get it eaten! It had been in the fridge for a long time, sort of emergency food. It tasted okay but it wasn’t that great. It was also a little more tomatoey than I had hoped.

I did most of the dishes but F came through and did the last couple of them while I dried the rest. He did lend a hand with the drying too. Woot.

We went upstairs for a while but went out after 8 pm.  We went over to the onsen.  It was quite snowy and slushy outside.  Boo!  I got a seat at the onsen and sat and listened to podcasts and did a bit of crochet while F went off and did the bath thing.

He came back and instead of getting a drink at the onsen I suggested going for a drink, so that’s what we did. We ended up at Komeda again and this time had a cake set each. I had an interesting matcha/coffee thing and F had a chestnut (or Mont Blanc as they say here).  It was nice. I didn’t do any crochet, even though I thought I might.

We bought a few groceries for K’s lunch tomorrow and for us tonight. We came back to the house and I looked out my winter boots. I think I’ll have to wear them tomorrow. Boo. I’ll take my shoes in case I am able to wear them, but it makes more sense to wear the boots and pack the shoes.

I took a shower and then when I had finished I came upstairs and watched The Handmaid’s Tale and then a programme from earlier tonight. F went to bed a little while ago and I should get going soon too. Tomorrow could be a long day!

That’s it for me. I’ll be back on either Sunday or Monday, so don’t wait up for me.  Take care and I’ll be back later. Until next time….
